Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chinese Visa.

China,
officially the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia
and the world's most populous country, with a population of around
1.404 billion in 2017. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square
kilometres, it is the third or fourth-largest country by total
area. China’s
political system was based on hereditary Monarchies or dynasties
beginning with the semi-mythical Xia dynasty in 21st Century BCE.
China as a whole was ravaged by feudal warlordism with Japan during World War II. The Chinese civil war resulted in a division of territory in 1949 when the communist party of China led by Mao Zedong established the people’s republic of China on mainland China. Also the Kuomintang led nationalist government retreated to the Island of Taiwan where it governed until 1996 when Taiwan changed to democracy.
China’s economy has been one of the world’s fastest-growing with its annual growth rates consistently above 6 per cent. According to the World bank China’s GDP grew from $150 billion in 1978 to $12.24 trillion in 2017. In 2018, its GDP increased to $13.5 trillion (90 trillion yuan). Since 2010, China has been the country with the world’s second-largest economy by nominal GDP and the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity in 2014.
China is also the world’s largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods and also the home to some of the world’s largest tech giants such as Huawei, Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba as it is the world’s most technologically advanced nation. Since 2019, China has the highest number of rich people in the world.

China Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This business visa is issued to foreign nationals who are traveling to China to engage in various business activities of their choice.
- This visa allows its holders to negotiate and sign business contracts while in the country.
- This visa allows you to attend conferences, seminars, trade fairs, and workshops while in China.
- Applicants who are employed are required to provide a certificate of employment from their employer.
- The letter should introduce the applicant and state their job position and salary level.
- This letter should also state the duration and purpose of the applicant's visit.
- An official letter of invitation from the host company in China should be provided.
- The letter should be printed on the company’s letterhead and must contain the contact information of the company.
- The letter must also contain the nature of the business to be carried out by the applicant in China
- The business letter must also state who will be taking up the responsibility of the applicant’s expenses in the country.
- If there have been previous business dealings between the two companies, proof of this should be provided.
- Non-Tanzanians are to provide a copy of their Tanzanian residence permit.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee is to be submitted also.
China Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is issued to intending students of any academic institution in China.
- This visa is issued for a minimum of 6 months.
- Applicants of this visa must have been offered admission into one of the institutions in China. If otherwise, they will be refused this visa.
- A letter of acceptance from the institution the applicant has been accepted to is to be submitted.
- The letter should state the course the applicant has been offered and the duration of the study program.
- Applicants of this visa are to provide certificates and transcripts gotten from the schools they have previously attended.
- Foreigners applying for this visa must not have been convicted of any crime.
- Foreign students are allowed to work for a period of time provided that it does not interfere with their study program.
- Holders of this visa are to apply for a residence permit within 30 days of their arrival in China.
- Proof of payment of visa application fee should be provided.
China Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for Tanzanians who want to visit China for tourism purposes and visiting family and friends.
- This visa allows you to stay in China for a period of 30 days.
- This visa is valid for 90 days.
- You are not allowed to engage in any form of business or trading while in Kenya.
- Previous visas are to be made available if you have any.
- Applicant's most recent monthly bank statement clearly showing the applicant's name as the account holder is to be submitted.
- The account balance and the date of the statement are to be included also.
- If the statement was printed online, then it has to be Authenticated (stamped) by the bank.
- You are to submit an invitation letter from your host in China.
- The letter should clearly state your relationship with them and their contacts and address.
- If your host is not a Chinese citizen, they are to make available their resident's permit.
- A letter from your employer on company's letterhead, with contact details, is to be submitted also.
- The letter must state that a leave of absence has been granted.
- The purpose and duration of the trip, and that you will be returning to your current job must be stated in the letter also.
- The company's current bank statement for the last 6 months, Income Tax Return(ITR) and Original payslips are to be submitted also.
- If the applicant is self-employed, they are to submit a copy of their business license, company bank statement of the last 6 months and Income Tax Return (ITR).
- Students are to submit an official letter from their school indicating that they are registered for the upcoming semester.
- They are also to submit a No Objection certificate from their school or University.
- Retirees are to submit proof of their retirement funds.
- Hotel Bookings/reservation(s) for the duration of your visit is to be submitted.
- Flight Bookings/reservations(s) for China and return ticket.

What is the official currency of China?
The official currency of China is Renminbi(RMB) or Chinese Yuan(CYN). Hong Kong Dollars may be accepted in stores near Hong Kong but the exchange terms will be unfavorable. You can exchange USD in banks in large cities and in local hotels but the best and most convenient option for you is to make use of the exchange counter at the airport.
Can I use credit and debit cards in China?
Not every ATM will accept foreign cards. All you have to do is look for ATMs specifically for foreign cards and check for your card logo to know if it will be accepted. However, it is advisable to let your bank know before making your trip to China.
What is the official language in China?
The official language in China is Mandarin also called Putonghua. Other major dialects are also spoken and they are divided into 8. Only very few Chinese speak English.
