Basic Travel Requirements for Tanzanians visiting Greenland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greenlandic Visa.


  • A passport valid for at least 3 months from your planned date of departure from Greenland.
  • The visa will only be issued if blank pages are available and if the passport has been issued in the last 10 years.
  • Round-trip travel itinerary specifying entry and exit dates.
  • Proof of funds to support yourself during your stay.
  • Travel insurance policy.
  • A Schengen visa issued by a Danish mission with the wording 'Valid for Greenland' in the comments section on the visa.
  • Self-employed applicants are to provide a copy of their business license and Income Tax Return(ITR).
  • You are to provide medical insurance of at least 30,000Euro coverage.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fees.
  • Bank statement for the last 6 months is to be provided.
  • Proof of valid accommodation is to be provided.
  • All documents are to be submitted with two photocopies as the original documents will not be returned to you if you fail to do so.

Greenland is an autonomous region of the Kingdom of Denmark, located between the Arctic and Atlantic oceans, east of the Canadian Arctic Archipelago. Though physio-graphically a part of the continent of North America, Greenland has been politically and culturally associated with Europe for more than a millennium.
