Basic Travel Requirements for Tanzanians visiting Greenland
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Greenlandic Visa.
- A passport valid for at least 3 months from your planned date of departure from Greenland.
- The visa will only be issued if blank pages are available and if the passport has been issued in the last 10 years.
- Round-trip travel itinerary specifying entry and exit dates.
- Proof of funds to support yourself during your stay.
- Travel insurance policy.
- A Schengen visa issued by a Danish mission with the wording 'Valid for Greenland' in the comments section on the visa.
- Self-employed applicants are to provide a copy of their business license and Income Tax Return(ITR).
- You are to provide medical insurance of at least 30,000Euro coverage.
- Proof of payment of visa application fees.
- Bank statement for the last 6 months is to be provided.
- Proof of valid accommodation is to be provided.
- All documents are to be submitted with two photocopies as the original documents will not be returned to you if you fail to do so.

Greenland Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is for those who are going to Greenland for business opportunities.
- It is also for those transferring from a company in Tanzania to a branch in Greenland.
- An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in Greenland and their detailed address accompanied with the dates of your visit to Greenland is to be submitted.
- A certificate from your employer stating the allowance of your leave and business travel to Greenland should be submitted.
- If there have been previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be submitted.
- You are to provide your personal bank statements for the last 6 months and that of your company if you are self-employed.
- Memorandum and Article of Association in original certified copy (registered with joint-stock companies), Trade License (first issued and present renewal) and proprietorship/partnership documents are to be provided.
- Regarding the applicant’s expenses during their stay in Greenland, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses in the letter of invitation.
- You must own a work permit to work in Greenland as failure to do so might cause you and your employer to face charges.
Greenland Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for applicants who have been offered admission to a Greenlandic institution or those who are willing to study in Greenland or take up an internship in Greenland.
- You are to submit an enrollment certificate allowing attendance of your courses.
- A certificate of completion or courses attended is to be provided.
- You are to submit proof of financial sustenance for your entire stay in Greenland.
- If you want to work as a student in Greenland, you have to acquire a residence permit.
- You must have submitted your application at least 2 months before your degree starts and you will wait for a reply for about 60 days or thereabout.
- If you fill the application form online, you and your university will have to complete a part of the form or you can fill it in person and submit it at the embassy.
- You will have to appear at the embassy to do a visa interview and your biometrics.
- You can renew your visa every year.
- If you decide to remain in Greenland after your degree, you will have to apply through the immigration office.
- You do not need health insurance or medical tests to apply for a student visa in Greenland.
Greenland Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for persons going to Greenland for sightseeing, visiting either friends or family in Greenland or have decided to come and relax.
- You are to provide your bank statement for the last 6 months.
- If you do not have a bank account or do not own enough funds to take care of your expenses during this travel, the visiting friends or relatives have to sign an “official affidavit of support” at the corresponding office in their place of residence.
- Make sure you carry the original documents when applying for the visa.
- Travel Itinerary and the purpose of traveling is to be also submitted.
- The time frame and all the things you will do is to be written down also.
- Hotel reservations or a formal invitation letter from a resident is to be provided.
- You are not to take up any form of employment with this visa.
- If you want to work in Greenland as a foreigner, you must either apply for a business visa or a work permit.
