Basic Travel Requirements for Tanzanians visiting Mexico
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Mexican Visa.
- A Tanzanian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 pages blank for visa stamp.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm)

Mexico Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This business visa allows applicants to engage in various business activities in Mexico.
- You can attend business meetings and conferences, sign and negotiate business contracts with partner companies while in Mexico.
- A passport validity of 6 months must be provided.
- Applicants of this visa who intend to attend business conferences in the country are advised to register for the conference before they leave Tanzania. The certificate of registration should be submitted with the other required documents.
- A letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should be provided.
- The letter should state the duration and purpose of your visit to Mexico.
- A letter written in Spanish is required from your company indicating that you are an employee and that the services you will provide in Mexico will be paid for by your company.
- If the travel expenses of the applicant will not be covered by the company, this should be expressly stated in the letter.
- The certificate of business registration of the inviting company in Mexico is to be submitted.
- Proof that you are a Tanzanian resident must be provided.
- Non-citizens should provide a copy of their stay permit.
- You are to leave Mexico at the expiration of your visa.
Mexico Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa type is for applicants who wish to study in any institution of learning in Mexico.
- Applicants of this visa should ensure that they have been offered admission into the school they applied to before applying for the visa.
- The applicant's original passport and a photocopy of the information page of the passport must be provided.
- The original admission letter written on the school’s letterhead should be submitted. This proves that you have been offered admission into the school and you can attend classes.
- Bank account statements to prove that you have sufficient funds for your study in Mexico must be provided also.
- If you have a scholarship, you should be able to present the scholarship letter from the institution, mentioning the exact amount of the scholarship.
- Certificates and transcripts from previously attended schools should be submitted during the visa application process.
- Proof that you have paid the tuition fee for your particular program of study should be provided.
- International students are permitted to work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when the school is on break.
- If you are a minor, the original copy of your birth certificate should be submitted.
- You are to also submit a notarized letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided.
- The Mexico student visa can be extended to cover the duration of your study program in the country.
- You are allowed to obtain a temporary resident card once you get into the country.
- Foreigners should ensure they abide by all the rules guiding their visa.
- It is mandatory for travelers to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever before traveling to Mexico.
Mexico Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Mexican tourist visa allows foreigners to visit Mexico for the purpose of sightseeing, relaxation, and recreation and visiting family and friends.
- Your passport must have a validity of at least three months beyond your intended period of stay. If otherwise, you should consider getting your passport renewed before traveling.
- An invitation letter from the friend or relative you intend to visit in the country is needed. The letter should have a valid home address and telephone number of your host.
- During your time in the country, you are free to attend festivals and other social events.
- Proof that you are financially capable to support yourself during your stay in Mexico must be provided. This is usually done by presenting bank or credit card statements.
- You are expected to have at least USD 50 per day for your stay in Mexico.
- A copy of your round-trip or tour ticket is required.
- Applicants are required to present a letter from their current employer stating awareness of their leave. Your position in the company, the term of your employment, and the duration of your leave should also be stated in the letter.
- If you are under the age of 18, the unabridged original copy of your birth certificate should be made available. Also, a letter of consent signed by both your parents is required if you will be traveling without your parents.
- A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa should be submitted during the visa application process, e.g., proof of family ties or a stable job in Tanzania.
- Evidence that the visa application fee has been paid is required.
- Foreigners on this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
- Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever and Malaria before traveling to Mexico.
- You are expected to leave Mexico on or before the expiry of your visa.
Mexico Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for persons who are transiting through Mexico to another country.
- This visa is valid for 24 hours.
- A round-trip or onward ticket, and a valid visa for the final destination must be presented.
- On arrival into Mexico, the traveler is escorted to the transit hall of the Mexico City International Airport.
- The traveler will remain in custody of an agent of the National Immigration Service who holds passports and/or travel documents until the passenger boards the connecting flight.
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or study while they are in the country.
- If you are a minor, a letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided. The original copy of your birth certificate is also required.
- All travelers are advised to be vaccinated against Yellow Fever before departing their country.
- The Mexico transit visa cannot be extended.
