Application requirements
Documents Tanzanian applicants need to provide.
- Original copies of correctly filled, signed and stamped visa application form is required.
- A Coloured passport-sized photograph with a white background.
- Applicant's passport must have a validity of 6 months after the date of exit from Vietnam.
- The passport must have at least 2 blank visa pages for the Vietnam visa stamp.
- The applicant should provide a copy of the bank statement showing proof of sufficient funds for the whole duration of stay in Vietnam.
- Proof of accommodation which could be a hotel reservation or a letter of invitation from the host stating purpose, duration, and intentions of hosting you while in Vietnam
- Travel tickets or itinerary showing entry and exit dates from Vietnam.
- An original certificate of vaccination against yellow fever is required.
- For minors travelling alone, their original birth certificate, as well as a signed letter of consent from both parents, is required.

Tourist visa
- The tourist visa allows travellers to visit Vietnam for sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
- With a tourist visa, you can visit friends and relatives.
- Holders of this visa cannot engage in business activities during their stay.
- Visitors cannot take up a course in any of the educational institutions of learning in the country.
- Letter of invitation from your host explaining the purpose of the visit and duration of the trip.
- Hotel reservation or confirmation is required.
- The letter should have full home address details and a valid means of identification of your host.
- Applicants are required to provide a yellow fever vaccination certificate.
- Children under 18 years are required to provide a letter of authorization by parents and a copy of the birth certificate.
- Children are also required to provide parent’s identification documents.
Business visa
- A business visa is granted to foreigners who are visiting Vietnam for business meetings, negotiating contracts with business partners.
- A letter of invitation from the host company the applicant will be visiting in Vietnam.
- The letter should state the address and give contact information about the company and the reason for the visit to Vietnam.
- It should also be stated in the letter if the inviting company in Vietnam is taking up the financial expenses of the applicant and the nature of the business to be conducted in Vietnam.
- A certificate of business registration of the inviting company is required.
- Letter from the applicant's employer in Vietnam stating explaining awareness of leave and the duration of business leave is required.
- A yellow fever vaccination certificate is mandatory for this application
