Basic Travel Requirements for Thais visiting Belize

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belizean Visa.

  • A Thailand passport valid for at least six months from the intended travel date to Belize and blank pages for visa stamping.
  • Completed and signed visa application form.
  • Passport photograph (2½ by 2½ inches) taken on a plain background.
  • Accommodation confirmation in Belize.
  • Return/onward flight ticket.
  • Proof of sufficient funds to cover entire duration of stay in Belize.
  • Letter of invitation from family or friends.
  • Cover letter stating the purpose of travel to Belize.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Receipt of visa fees.

Belize Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belize tourist visa is issued to Thais traveling to Belize for tourism and visitation purposes.
  • This visa is valid for 90 days.
  • For every 30 days visa extension, visitors are required to pay 25 Belize dollars.
  • Visitors who want to stay longer should request a one-month extension from the Immigration and Nationality Department.
  • Visas will be facilitated by your travel agent or the hotel or resort that you have booked for your visit to Belize.
  • Applicants traveling for visitation purposes should provide an invitation letter.
  • Currency restriction for entry into and exit out of Belize is $5,000.
  • Visitors traveling with children are required to provide birth certificates for each child.
  • Children who are not traveling with both parents will need to provide notarized letters from the parent(s), custody decree, adoption papers, or death certificates in situations where one or both parents are deceased.
  • Travelers are subject to local laws. If you violate local laws, even unknowingly, you may be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned.
  • Visitors are advised to make sure their health insurance plan provides coverage overseas.
  • Travelers are required to carry prescription medication in original packaging, along with your doctor’s prescription.
  • Taxis are common in cities but not as common in rural areas. Taxis are identified by green license plates. Visitors will need to call a taxi service to summon a taxi.
  • Uber is not available in Belize.

Belize Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Belize business visa is issued to Thais traveling to Belize for business purposes.
  • This visa is valid for 30 days but can be extended to 90 days.
  • Visitors who want to stay longer should request a one-month extension from the Immigration and Nationality Department. 
  • The visa can extended monthly.
  • This visa allows Thais to travel for business meetings and conferences.
  • A Letter of invitation from the host company in Belize must be provided.
  • Onward and return ticket or confirmed itinerary is required.
  • A business letter stating the purpose and duration of the visit and the applicants responsibility for all travel expenses.
  • Business travelers are required to have a sponsor. If you do not have a sponsor, a recent bank statement showing sufficient funds for the trip is required.
