Basic Travel Requirements for Thais visiting Bulgaria
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Bulgarian Visa.
- A fully completed and signed Bulgarian visa application form.
- A valid passport valid for a duration of six months beyond your intended date of arrival in Bulgaria.
- Photocopies of the relevant pages of your passport.
- Two recent-passport sized photographs, (3.5X4.5cm) in size and must show your full face.
- Travel itinerary/flight ticket.

Bulgaria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Bulgarian tourist visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting Bulgaria for tourism, sight-seeing, relaxation, visitation and other recreational purposes.
- The Bulgaria tourist visa is also known as the Type C visa. It is a short stay visa that allows its holder to stay in Bulgaria for a duration of 90 days within a six-month period.
- A duly completed and signed Bulgaria tourist visa application form.
- Two recently taken passport photographs taken with a white background.
- Original and photocopies of your international passport valid for the duration of your stay in Bulgaria, the passport must have blank pages for visa stickers.
- A copy of your flight reservations or travel itinerary.
- A valid travel medical insurance covering the entire duration of your stay in Bulgaria.
- Bank statements to show proof of financial status or funds covering the entire duration of your stay in Bulgaria. Applicants must attest to owning a sum of 60 euros daily while in Bulgaria.
- Proof of accommodations or hotel reservations in Bulgaria.
- A letter of invitation from a friend or relative in Bulgaria. The letter must state the purpose of your visit, duration of stay, the contact details and residential address of the host in Bulgaria.
- Employed applicants are required to submit a letter written by the employer stating that leave was granted and he is aware of the applicants absence from work. The letter must be written on the company's letterhead and should contain the date and time the applicant will be returning back to work.
- Self employed applicants are required to submit a business license or certificate of tax identification.
- Retired applicants must show evidence of pension funds that will be valid for their entire duration of stay in Bulgaria without working.
Bulgaria Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Bulgarian business visa is a visa issued to foreigners who intend to visit Bulgaria for business purposes.
- Thais who intend to visit Bulgaria for business meetings, conferences, exhibitions, to sign business deals and to attend trade fairs can apply for this visa.
- There are two types of Bulgarian business visa and they are:
- Short stay or Type C business visa: This visa is a multi-entries visa that allows foreigners to stay in Bulgaria for a duration of 90 days.
- Long stay or Type D business visa: The long-stay visa is a visa granted to foreigners who intend to stay in Bulgaria for a duration of 6-12 months.
- A photocopy of the first page of your travel document is required.
- A full-colour photograph 3.5 cm х 4.5 cm in size and taken against a light-colored background is needed.
- A letter of invitation from a business partner in Bulgaria stating the purpose of your travel is required.
- A medical insurance valid for the duration of your stay in Bulgaria.
- Bank statement to show proof of sufficient funds.
- Proof of housing or accommodation in Bulgaria.
- FBI check, legalized with an “apostille” is required for applicant's applying for Type D visa.
- Minors traveling without their parents must submit the following documents:
- A copy of their birth certificate.
- Original and photocopy of a notarized consent letter stating that both parents agree to their child travel unaccompanied by them.
- There are three primary instances which a long-stay Bulgarian business visa can be issued and they are:
- Registration of a trade representative office in Bulgaria, you are not required to employ local citizens.
- Registration of a Bulgarian company employing at least 10 local citizens for no fewer than 6 months.
- Registration of a Bulgarian branch employing at least 10 local citizens for now fewer than 6 months.
Bulgaria Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Bulgarian study visa is a visa issued to foreigners who want to study in Bulgaria.
- A Passport valid at least for one year and two blank visa pages for entry and exit stamps.
- Two identical passport-sized photograph 3.5cm х 4.5cm in size and taken against a white background.
- A certificate of acceptance stating that the applicant is admitted as a student in Bulgarian university,
- Certificate from the University stating that the applicant will be accommodated in the student hostel.
- Medical insurance valid for the whole period of your trip to cover medical emergency or illness during your stay in Bulgaria.
- Bank document to prove that the applicant’s tuition fee has been paid in full.
- Original and photocopies of your ticket booking confirmation.
- Minors travelling without their parents are required to submit the following documents:
- Copy of their birth certificate.
- Original and photocopy of a notarized consent letter signed by both parents stating that they agree to their child traveling unaccompanied by them.
- Photocopy of the last Bulgarian and Schengen visas is required (if any).
- A police clearance report stating that the applicant is of good behaviour.
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the applicant study year in Bulgaria.
