Basic Travel Requirements for Thais visiting Canada

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Canadian Visa.


  • A valid passport with six months validity period and blank pages for visa stickers.
  • A completed and signed Canada visa application form.
  • A document showing proof of paid Canada visa fees (Application processing fees and biometric fees).
  • Passport photographs taken within the last 6 months and taken against a light-colored background is required.
  • Proof of financial means to cover the stay period in Canada.
  • Proof of return or onward ticket to show you will leave Canada when your visa expires.
  • A photocopy of your Identity and Civil Status Documents should be attached to your visa application form. Your identity form can be your marriage certificate, birth certificate or national ID card.
  • Police clearances to proof of good conduct in your home country.
  • Medical examination by a panel physician to show you are in good health. However, a medical exam is not necessary if you plan to stay for less than six months.
  • A cover letter that explains the purpose of your travel to Canada.
  • Letter of invitation from a friend, relative or business partner in Canada.
  • Minors traveling alone is required to submit a letter of authorization signed by both parents or a legal guardian.
  • If the minor is traveling with one parent, a signed letter of authorization from the parent who is not traveling with them is required. The letter must include: The address and phone number of the parent not traveling and photocopy of the passport and national identity card of the parent not traveling.
