Basic Travel Requirements for Thais visiting Hungary
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Hungarian Visa.
- A completed and signed Hungary visa application form.
- A passport valid for at least three months after your return date from the country and must have at least two blank pages.
- Two recently taken passport photographs taken against a light background.
- A copy of your return ticket reservation.
- Travel medical insurance up to 30,000 € to cover your stay in Hungary and other Schengen area you intend to visit.
- A cover letter stating your purpose of visit and duration of stay in Hungary.
- Flight itinerary reservation. This should contain the entry and exit dates and your flight number.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation for your entire duration of stay in the country.
- Children birth certificates, marriage certificate or spouse death certificate to show proof of civil status.
- Proof of sufficient funds to cover the entire duration of stay in the country.
- Flight return ticket.
- Minors traveling alone are required to submit a consent letter signed both parents stating that they are aware of the applicant's trip.
- A copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.

- The Hungarian tourist visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting Hungary for tourism purposes and visitation.
- Thailand citizens visiting Hungary for tourism, visitation, and other recreational purposes can apply for the Hungarian tourist visa.
- A completed and signed tourist visa application form is required.
- A recently taken passport-sized photograph taken against a light-colored background is required.
- A passport with at least six months validity and blank pages for entry and exit stamps.
- Proof of paid tourist visa application fee.
- Travel medical insurance of up to 30,000 euros to cover your entire duration of stay in Hungary and other Schengen area.
- A cover letter stating the purpose of your visit and duration of stay in Hungary must be provided.

- An invitation letter from a friend or family in Hungary. The letter should contain the residential address and contact details of the host.

- Employed applicants are expected to submit a letter from their employer stating their current job position, job description and expected date of resumption.
- Employed applicants are also required to show a bank statement of the last six months, certificate of income tax returns, employment contracts and No-objection certificate from your employer.
- Self-employed applicants are required to submit a copy of their business license, their company's bank statement of the latest six months and income tax returns.
- If you are retired, a copy of your pension statement of the latest six months is required.
Hungary Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Hungarian business visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting Hungary to sign business deals, for conferences and for business meetings.
- Thais visiting Hungary on a business visa can attend seminars, trade fairs, conferences and business exhibitions.
- A completed and signed Hungary business visa application form.
- A passport not more than 10 years with a validity period of six months and two blank pages for visa stamps is required.
- A passport-sized photograph not more than three months, 35mmx45mm in size and taken against a light coloured or grey background is required.
- A letter of invitation from the Hungarian company is required. The letter should contain the purpose of your visit to the country and must be written in the Hungarian language.
- A cover letter from the applicant employee is needed. The letter should be written on the company's letterhead, contain the company's seal and must be addressed to the Hungarian embassy.
- The cover letter should include the applicant's personal details, the purpose of visit and the duration of stay in Hungary and his present job position in the company.
- A document stating if the Hungarian business partner or the applicant employee is responsible for the traveling expenses must be provided.
- Round trip flight tickets.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in the country is needed.
- Medical travel insurance of up to 30,000 euros to cover your entire duration of stay in Hungary.
- Employment letter or a copy of your business license to show proof of employment.
- Bank statements of the past three months or a copy of your passbook to show proof of financial status.
- Self employed applicants are required to show evidence of business registration and business license.
Hungary Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Hungary student visa is a visa issued to foreigners who intend to study in Hungary.
- An international passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your date of entry and blank pages for visa stamps is required.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form.
- Proof of paid tuition fees.
- An acceptance letter from the university regarding your admission is required. The letter should state your course of study and the duration of your course of study.
- Passport photographs not more than 6 months with a white background.
- A copy of the photograph page of your passport is required.
- Proof of health insurance valid for the duration of your stay in Hungary.
- Proof of housing valid through your study year.
- Bank statements to show proof of financial status.
- Flight return ticket.
- Sponsored applicants or applicants on Scholarship are required to submit a letter to this effect.
