Basic Travel Requirements for Thais visiting Portugal

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Portuguese Visa.

  • A passport issued not more than 10 years earlier and valid for at least 3 months from the date of departure from Portugal.
  • The passport must contain at least two blank pages for visa stickers.

Portugal Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Portugal tourist or visitor visa is a short stay visa issued to foreigners visiting the country for tourism purposes.
  • Thailand citizens visiting Portugal for sight-seeing, visitation, vacation and other recreational purposes can apply for this visa.
  • This visa is valid for a duration of 90 days.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in Portugal is required. 
  • A letter of invitation from a host in Portugal. 
  • The letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host, duration of stay and place(s) to be visited during the stay.
  • The letter must also state the residential address and contact details of the host in Portugal.
  • Travel medical coverage worth a minimum of 30,000 euros valid for the entire Schengen area is required.
  • All applicants are to write a cover letter explaining why they want to visit Portuga.
  • Individuals who want to receive medical treatment can also apply for this visa.
  • Applicants are advised to exit Portugal after the expiry of their visa. If you overstay your visa you will be fined or deported. 
      

Portugal Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Thailand citizens who intend to visit Portugal for business meetings, seminars, conferences and other business-related activities can apply for this visa.
  • This visa allows its holder to engage in business-related activities in Portugal for a duration of 90 days in every 180 days.
  • This visa does not permit its holder to engage in any form of employment, paid or unpaid.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in Portugal is required.
  • Applicants are required to show proof of sufficient funds valid through their period of stay in the country.
  • Those attending conferences are expected to pre-register and provide proof during their application.
  • A letter of invitation from the host company in Portugal is required.
  • The invitation letter should state the nature of the business to be conducted, the duration of the business and if the company would sponsor the business trip.
  • If there have been previous contracts between the company in Portugal and the applicant company in Thailand, details of such should be provided.
  • Proof of previously issued Schengen visa (if any).
  • Proof of paid visa fee.
