Application requirements
Documents Thai applicants need to provide.
- A Thailand passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- Duly completed and signed visa application form.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Passport-size photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken in white background.
- Travel document.
- Proof of financial support.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country.
- Travel medical insurance of 30,000 euros to cover duration of entire stay.
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
- Copy of travel itinerary.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- The Spanish tourist visa is issued to Thais traveling to Spain for tourism purposes.
- Spain is a Schengen country, applicants can apply for a Schengen visa.
- This visa is valid for 90 days in a period of 180 days.
- Passport that is valid for at least six months after the intended date of travel and three months after scheduled return from travel; with previous passport and two full blank pages to affix the visa
- Pay slips for the past six months must be provided by the applicant.
- Personal statement of account for the past six months and that of your hostnis required, if you are being sponsored.
- Proof of accommodation must be provided. In the case where you have no one to invite you, you will need a valid hotel booking as proof of accommodation arrangement.
- You must show proof of having valid travel insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000.
- Proof of civil status such as marriage certificate, birth certificate of children etc must be provided.
- Make sure you dress accordingly. If you are visiting a sacred place, a monastery or church make sure to dress accordingly to avoid any trouble. Spaniards always follow seasonal fashion rules.

Business visa
- The Spanish business visa is issued to Thais traveling to Spain to conduct business.
- The business visa for the Schengen Territory allows you to stay and travel within the Schengen Territory a maximum of 90 days per year.
- Invitation Letters of Spanish companies must be addressed to the Consulate General of Spain in Thailand, they must be written in Spanish and must be sent to the applicant by Courier Service. Applicants must also to include an original Invitation Letter along with their applications. Photocopies and scans are not accepted.
- In the invitation letter, the following must be included:
- Reason behind the invitation.
- The personal data of the guests. For example, name and surname, passport number, expedition and expiration dates.
- The kind of trade relations between the partners.
- Proof of commercial relations with the inviting company must be provided. This proof must include; original Bills of Lading, custom clearance documents etc.
- All original documents of the Thailand company that is sending you on the business trip must be provided. These documents must include:
- Certificate of Incorporation or Registration.
- Memorandum of Articles of Association.
- Tax Clearance Certificate.
Student visa
- The Spanish student visa is for Thais who have been accepted to study in a University or college in Spain.
- Spain is the third most popular country for international studies. There are around 85,000 international students studying in Spain each year
- The cost of living for students in Spain is very affordable.
- Tuition at some colleges cost as little as 5,500 Euros per year while others cost upwards of 12,000 Euros per year. This also depends on your study degree.
- Applicants can also apply for financial aid assistance. These financial aids include:
- Student loans
- Grants
- Scholarships.
- Most classes in Spain are taught in Spanish. However with the increasing number of international students entering schools in the country it is becoming much easier to find classes available in English as well. Even if you choose English classes, be prepared to learn Spanish anyway.
- Students should have at least 300 Euros monthly to sustain themselves financially.
- Applicants looking to study for more than three months are eligible to apply for a residence permit.
- The following documents are also required:
- An original passport valid for at least three months beyond intended stay and/or national ID card
- Letter of invitation from the Spanish college/university
- Proof that you have enough financial means for the length of your stay
- Medical insurance with international coverage of at least 30,000 Euros.
- Medical certificate to prove that you are in good health
- Certificate of absence of police records issued by your national police
Work visa
- The Spanish work visa is issued to Thais traveling to Spain for employment purposes.
- Confirmation of employment in the country is necessary before you initiate the visa application process.
- Letter from your employer in the country confirming your employment should be provided.
- The address of the company as well as your job description should be clearly stated in the letter.
- Proof that you are not receiving below the minimum wage is required.
- If the applicant of this visa is not a Kenyan citizen, a copy of his/her Thailand stay permit is required.
- You are required to apply for a work permit.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee should be provided.
- Proof that you have the incentive of returning to Thailand is required. This is a necessary requirement for seasonal workers.
- You are expected to abide by all the rules guiding your visa application.
- At the expiry of your visa, you are required to leave the country.
