South Africa visa requirements for Togoleses

The South African tourist visa is issued to Togolese travelling with the intentions of sightseeing, vacation or visiting

The tourist is also issued to applicants travelling for study purposes that are less than 3 months.

Applicants must submit their passport with a validity of not less than 3 months from the proposed date of travel.

Granting of this visa does not guarantee entry into South Africa, entry into south Africa is at the discretion of the immigration officer at the port of entry.

South African visa requirements include:

At least two blank pages in your passport for endorsements.

Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.

Proof of incentive of returning to Togo at the expiration of your visa should be provided.

Yellow fever certificate is required if the applicant is passing through the yellow fever belt area before entering South Africa.

Applicants are to declare any money being brought into South Africa that exceeds 25,000 Rand.

Travellers may import their personal medicament provided it is for not more than three (3) months’ use. This must be accompanied by a prescription issued by a medical doctor.

Applicants are advised not to make non-refundable expenses until their application is granted.

Due to the current xenophobic attacks in South Africa, Togolese are advised to apply all safety measures while in south Africa.

The South African Business visa is issued to Togolese travelling with the intention of establishing or investing in a business in South Africa.

Applicants passport with a validity of not less than 1 month from the proposed date of travel.

A letter of invitation from the host company or business partner in South Africa should be provided.

Proof of funds or financial sufficiency to finance the business and the applicant's duration of stay.

Proof of incentive of returning to Togo at the expiration of your visa.

The following are considered before this visa is issued.

Applicants are to prove that the amount of money to be invested in the business is substantial and would be beneficial to their economy.

The type of business the applicants intends to establish will be assessed to ensure that it does not affect home-based established businesses that exist already. 

Applicant has to prove that 60% of his employees will be either South Africans or permanent residency holders.

Proof of intent to register with The South African Revenue Service and other business regulatory institutions as recognized by the SAQA must be provided.

Proof of clean criminal record from Togo should be provided.

A letter of recommendation from the Department of Trade and Industry that assessed the feasibility of your business and why the contribution would be beneficial and of interest to the Republic.

A yellow fever vaccination certificate and medical fitness certificate should be provided.

The Transit Visa is issued to Togolese making stopovers in South Africa.

This Visa has a validity of 3 days.

With this visa, foreigners can board a connecting flight from an airport in South Africa to the destination country.

This visa also allows its holders to transit through a port in South Africa to a third destination.

The visa and other entry permits to the destination country are required.

Flight ticket to your destination country should be submitted.

Applicants below 18 years are to submit a copy of their birth certificate with a notarized letter of consent from one or both parents.

Holders of this visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.

You cannot study with the transit visa.

Proof of clean criminal record should be provided.

Receipt of paid visa application fee is required

Applicants are expected to leave South Africa before the expiration of their visa.
