Basic Travel Requirements for Tunisians visiting China

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chinese Visa.

  • Original passport with at least six months of remaining validity.
  • Passport should have 2 blank visa pages for visa stamp.
  • One completed Visa Application Form.
  • 1 recently-taken color passport photo against a light background.
  • Proof of legal stay or residence status in Tunisia.
  • An invitation letter to from host in China is required. The host could either be a friend, family member, tour/business organization in China.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of the return trip plane ticket for China.
  • A copy of a Chinese hotel booking for the whole duration of your stay containing the full names of the applicant.
  • Copy of travel itinerary showing entry and exit from Tunisia.
  • Bank statements showing proof of financial support.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Copy of return flight tickets showing that applicants have intentions of returning to Tunisia.

Facts about China

China, officially the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion in 2017. Covering approximately 9,600,000 square kilometres, it is the third or fourth-largest country by total area.  China’s political system was based on hereditary Monarchies or dynasties beginning with the semi-mythical Xia dynasty in 21st Century BCE.


China as a whole was ravaged by feudal warlordism with Japan during World War II. The Chinese civil war resulted in a division of territory in 1949 when the communist party of China led by Mao Zedong established the people’s republic of China on mainland China. Also the Kuomintang led nationalist government retreated to the Island of Taiwan where it governed until 1996 when Taiwan changed to democracy.


China’s economy has been one of the world’s fastest-growing with its annual growth rates consistently above 6 per cent. According to the World bank China’s GDP grew from $150 billion in 1978 to $12.24 trillion in 2017. In 2018, its GDP increased to $13.5 trillion (90 trillion yuan). Since 2010, China has been the country with the world’s second-largest economy by nominal GDP and the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity in 2014.


China is also the world’s largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods and also the home to some of the world’s largest tech giants such as Huawei, Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba as it is the world’s most technologically advanced nation. Since 2019, China has the highest number of rich people in the world.

China Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Tourist Visa is issued to foreigners for tourism purposes such as relaxation, recreation or sightseeing in China.
  • The applicant must provide a copy of the round trip airline confirming the dates of entry and exit from China. 
  • The applicant's name must be on the ticket (do not send the original ticket).
  • Proof of Accommodation issued by the inviting party or hotel reservation.
  • Copy of most recent bank statements or a letter from the bank verifying that the applicant has sufficient funds during the stay.
  • Letter of invitation from tour organization or relative to be visited in China stating the exact duration of stay and purpose of the visit is required.
  • An International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required. The applicant must submit a photocopy of the booklet (not the original).
  • The applicant under age 18 must submit a signed letter of consent signed by both parents, a copy of the minor's birth certificate and a copy of the passports or photo IDs of both parents.
  • Your passport with at least 6 months remaining validity and available blank pages, and a photocopy of passport's data page.
  • One accurately completed the China tourist visa application form. 
  • A recent passport-size color photo with white background attached to the application form.
  • Documents showing the itinerary including proof of round trip tickets booking and proof of hotel reservation.
  • An invitation letter from the host in Chian is required.
  • The letter must include information of the applicant, including full name, gender, and date of birth, information on the planned visit, including arrival and departure dates, place(s) of visit.
  • The letter must also include information on the host, including name, contact number, address, official stamp, and signature of the legal representative of the host.
  • For those not applying in their country of citizenship, proof of legal stay or residence status is required.

China Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Tunisia signed passport must be valid for 6 months from the date you plan to depart China.
  • Visas and stamps should be affixed to the blank pages of the passport. 
  • Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not acceptable for visa issuance.
  •  If the passport does not meet this requirement, the applicant must renew a passport or obtain a new one.
  • Passport must contain sufficient blank visa pages for visa stamp.
  •  China visa application form that is signed and completely filled. 
  • China's business visa is issued to foreigners coming for commercial and trade activities, such as attending trade fairs, visiting clients and factories, negotiating with clients, and signing contracts.
  • A completed typewritten application form with a recently-taken colour photo glued to or stapled on.
  • Proof of legal stay or residence if you are applying from a third country.
  • China Business Visa Invitation Letter issued by a Chinese business or trade partner is required.
  • Invitation letter or confirmation letter of invitation issued by duly authorized Chinese institutes or relevant units.
  • Invitation letter of a trade fair.
  •  china invitation letter for the business visa should also indicate the applicant’s information including full name, birth date, passport number, information about the intended business visit, including purpose, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, and information about the inviter including name, contact number, address, signature, and official stamp.
  • Letter from host, sponsor or company to be visited in China stating responsibility for applicant’ financial means in China.
  • An International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever is required.
  • The applicant must provide a copy of round trip airline confirmation indicating the dates of entry and exit from the country you intend to visit.
