North Korea Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who are visiting North Korea with the intention of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
  • Foreigners who have been invited to the country by their friends and relatives can apply for this visa.
  • A letter of invitation from your host in the country is required if you are visiting a friend or relative.
  • The letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host and should be accompanied by a valid means of identification of the host.
  • Minors should provide the original copy of their both certificate which carries both names of their parents.
  • If the applicant is travelling with one or none of his/her parents, a letter of consent signed by both the applicant’s parents is required.
  • A document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to your home country at the expiration of the tourist visa is required.
  • Proof of payment of non-refundable visa application fee should be provided.
  • A criminal record signed by the police department showing that the applicant has never been engaged in criminal activities.
  • Travel itinerary indicating entry and exit date from North Korea.
  • A tourist visa does not permit applicants to work or engage in any business activities.

  • The business visa is issued to foreigners visiting for business purposes in North Korea.
  • The business visa allows foreigners to negotiate and sign business contracts with other business partners in North Korea.
  • Holders of this visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars in North Korea.
  • An official letter of invitation from the inviting company is required.
  • The letter should introduce the applicant and state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the visit.  
  • The letter must also state who will be responsible for the applicant’s finances while in the country.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer in Tunisia is required.
  • The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state awareness and allowance of the business leave.
  • If the applicant will be sponsored by the host company, it should be indicated in the required letter of invitation.
  • Letter of invitation should be accompanied by the original bank statement of the company. 
  • Certificate of business registration of the company should also be provided.
  • Proof of previous business dealings between the inviting and sending company should be provided if any.
  • The receipt that shows that the visa application fee has been paid in full is required.
  • Airline tickets indicating dates of arrival and departure from North Korea.
