Basic Travel Requirements for Ugandans visiting Italy
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Italian Visa.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form.
- An original passport is valid for at least 6 months after the intended arrival date.
- Two (2) blank pages of the passport are needed for visa stamps.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) taken on a white background
- A valid travel medical insurance of 30,000 euros to cover the entire duration of stay.
- A copy of your flight itinerary for the duration of the visit.
- A letter of invitation from a host in Italy(if invited by a party in Italy).
- 3-months bank statement of the visa applicant.
- A financial support indication from a sponsor (in the form of a notary statement or letter if the applicant's travel is sponsored).
- Proof of accommodation.
- A copy of the applicant's return flight ticket.
- Documents showing the applicant’s ties to Sudan.
- Documents confirming the purpose of travel.

General Requirements for Italy Visa

Italy Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is meant for those looking to visit Italy for less than 90 days for leisure or tourism purposes.
- Holders of this visa can also attend festivals and conferences.
- Those visiting friends and relatives in Italy require an invitation letter from their host. The letter should have the home address and telephone number of their host in the country.
- Applicants' passport that has a validity of 6 months from the date of departure should be submitted.
- Holders of this visa are prohibited from enrolling in one of the institutions of learning to take up a course of study.
- Copies of your previous visa should be provided(if applicable).
- A document that shows you have a reserved flight, to enter and leave Italy. This document should specify flight numbers, dates, and your details should be provided.
- Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations for the duration of stay should be provided.
- This visa does not serve to study purposes.
- A cover letter explaining why you are applying to visit Italy, how long you plan to stay, when will you leave and other details are required.
- Proof of civil status. This could be a marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, etc.
- If you are employed, a letter from your employer in Kenya is required. The letter should state that your employer is aware of your leave.
- Travel insurance that has a minimum value of 30,000 euros should be submitted.
- Non-Ugandans should provide a copy of their Ugandan stay permit during the visa application.
- An original copy of the minors’ birth certificate is required. If they are not traveling with their parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.
- Proof of paid visa fees is required.
- Bank statement. Preferably for the last 6 months is compulsory.
Italy Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for those who are planning to visit Italy for temporary work-related purposes.
- When traveling to Italy in order to engage in activities related to business, such as visiting a business/company to have meetings, to make business deals, to recruit, to train or other similar activities, you will need to hold an Italy Business Visa.
- Your business partner in Italy should provide a letter of invitation. The letter should contain the company’s address and state the purpose of your visit to the country.
- If your business partner in Italy is going to be responsible for your expenses, it should be stated in the letter of invitation from the company.
- A letter from your employer in Uganda stating they are aware of your business leave is required. The duration and purpose of your visit to the country should be clearly stated.
- Proof of previous business dealings with the company you are meeting with should be provided, if any. This may be in the form of signed contracts or payslips.
- A certificate of business registration of your business partner in Italy is required.
- Applicants are to submit approved health insurance that covers their duration of stay or its equivalent of 30,000 euros.
- For private business owners, a copy of their Income Tax Return(ITR) form or certificate of income tax deducted from salary should be submitted.
- Proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers applicants' duration of stay should be submitted.
- You cannot be paid for the services you render while you are in the country.
- You cannot seek public funds while in the country.
- Non-Ugandans should ensure they have a copy of their stay permit.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
Italy Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is for those who need to receive medical care in Italy for periods of up to 90 days.
- If your medical therapy or treatment is foreseen to last longer than that, you should instead apply for a National Visa for Medical Treatment in the respective country, which permits you to stay longer.
- A document that shows details regarding your flight to the Schengen Area and back, including flight numbers and dates should be provided.
- Your local doctor should provide your diagnosis stating the reason treatment is best administered in Italy and the duration of the treatment.
- A letter from the doctor in Italy stating that he has accepted to take up the treatment should be provided. The nature of the treatment and the intended time of recovery should be clearly stated.
- Travel medical insurance covering the whole Schengen Area, with minimal coverage of €30,000 during your whole period of stay is required.
- Proof that the applicant has sufficient financial means to pay the medical expenses and other related expenses throughout their treatment.
- Proof of civil status: Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, if applicable.
- If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate should be provided.
- Holders of this visa are prohibited from taking up employment in the country.
- Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
- You are to leave the country at the end of your treatment.
- Proof of accommodation. This could be any of the following(Confirmed Accommodation in the Medical Clinic/Hospital, hotel booking, letter of invitation, rent contract, etc.) should be provided.
