How to get a Japan visa from Uganda

• The tourist visa allows foreigners to visit Japan for the purpose of sightseeing, relaxation and recreation purposes.
• Foreigners who intend to visit friends and relatives in the country should provide an official letter of invitation from their host. The letter should contain the home address and telephone number of the host.
• If your host will be responsible for your expenses during your stay in Japan, a certificate of income or taxation from your host should be provided.
• You are to provide your host's certificate of residence.
• You are required to provide a letter from your employer stating the awareness and allowance of your leave. The duration of your leave and your job position should be clearly stated in the letter provided.
• If your host in Japan is a foreign national, a copy of both sides of the valid residence card, a certificate of residence, and a copy of his/her passport (including the pages of status items, records of entry/departure and permission of residence).
• Holders this visa are not permitted to receive payments for the services they render during their time in the country.
• You are expected to leave the country on or before your visa expires.
• You are required to present a document to prove kinship with your host in the country. The documents to be presented may include birth certificate, marriage certificate, a certified copy of the family register, photos, letters, e-mails, etc.
• If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate is required.
• The visa is valid for 90 days and it cannot be extended.

• This visa is issued to foreigners traveling to Japan to engage in business activities are the eligible applicants of this visa.
• Foreigners visiting the country on this visa may sign and negotiate business contracts with their partner companies in the country.
• Holders of this visa may intend to attend conferences, business summits, and trade fairs during their time in Japan.
• Applicants are to provide an official invitation letter from the company you are visiting in the country. The letter should contain the duration and purpose of your stay in the country.
• A signed letter from your employer in Uganda stating that he/she is aware of your business leave. Your status in the company and how long you have been employed should be clearly stated in the letter.
• The certificate of business registration of the company you are visiting should be provided.
• If your expenses during your time in the country are going to be covered by your employer, it should be stated in the letter by the company you are meeting with.
• Applicants of this visa are not allowed to receive payment for the services they render while they are in the country.
• Non-Ugandans should ensure they provide the original copy of their residence permit.
• An extension of this visa will not be granted after the expiry of its validity.
• Proof of paid visa fees should be provided.
• This visa does not serve for study purposes.
• You are to exit the country on or before the visa expires.

• Foreigners who intend to study in Japan for more than three months are eligible for a student visa.
• Before applying for this visa, you should have been accepted into an institution of learning or a recognized school in Japan.
• Certificate of Eligibility( the original document and one copy) is required.
• Certificate of Admission given to you by the school should be provided.
• Scholarship award letters should be provided(if any).
  
• Proof of part or full payment of tuition fee should be submitted.
• Applicants' certificates and relevant educational qualifications should be submitted.
• The certificate has to confirm that you are free from any contagious diseases/ illnesses before traveling to Japan. This is just a regular medical check (done with blood and urine samples, no x-rays) to ensure you have no contagious diseases.
• Applicants under the age of 18 years are to provide the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate. If you are traveling with one or none of your parents, a notarized consent signed by both your parents is required.
• International students are allowed to work part-time when school is in session and full-time when on break.
• Proof of paid visa application fee should be submitted by the applicant.
• Applicants are required to have a document that proves that they have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa.
• If someone else is sponsoring your stay, a letter written and signed by them should be enclosed and all other financial documents should show their name.
