Basic Travel Requirements for Emiratis visiting Ghana

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Ghanaian Visa.

  • UAE passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the intended date of exit from Ghana.
  • The passport must have 2 blank pages for the visa stamp.
  • Duly signed and correctly filled visa application form is required.
  • The Ghana visa application form should for minors be completed filled and signed by parents or legal guardians.
  • 2 recent passport photographs taken against a white background is required.
  • Medical travel insurance for emergency cases must be valid for the whole duration of stay in Ghana.
  • Bank statements showing proof of sufficient funds for the whole duration of stay in Ghana is required.
  • A copy of confirmed hotel reservation/booking showing proof of accommodation in Ghana.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Copy of travel itinerary showing dates of arrival and departure from Ghana is required.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of a certificate of vaccination or immunization against yellow fever.

Ghana Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Original, signed passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Ghana
  • The passport must have at least one blank page for the Ghana visa stamp. 
  • Two Ghana visa application form must be filled and signed by the applicant.
  • Parents or legal guardians must sign the visa application of minors.
  • Two recent 2 x 2 passport type photographs, in color, front view and with a plain/white background. 
  • Letter of invitation from the host in Ghana including the full residential address and telephone number as well as a copy of the hosts Ghanaian ID, Passport or Ghana Visa if staying with a friend or relative.
  • Flight itinerary from the airline or a travel agency or copy of airline ticket showing entry and departure from Ghana.
  • Hotel confirmation from the hotel manager, signed on hotel letterhead, including the name of the traveler and the exact dates of the stay in Ghana. Also, a copy of the signee's Passport/ID must be provided.
  • Travelers under the age of 18 must also provide a copy of the minor's birth certificate and copies of the parents' state-issued IDs or passport.
  • Minors are also required to submit a signed letter of consent by the parents/guardians authorizing the minor to travel.
  • All applicants entering Ghana are required to have a valid certificate of immunization against yellow fever.

Ghana Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Signed UAE passport valid for 6 months beyond stay in Ghana, with at least one empty page available for Ghana visa stamp.
  • Amendment pages in the back of the passport are not suitable for a Ghana visa.
  • Two recent 2 x 2 passport photographs with a white background.
  • A letter of invitation from the host company or individual explaining the relationship to the applicant and the purpose of travel to Ghana.
  • The invitation letter must state the type of business to be carried out in Ghana.
  • The letter must indicate the length of stay, place of stay, (including full residential address and telephone number), and contact information.
  • A copy of the host's passport must be included, and a residency permit if not a Ghanaian citizen.
  • Letter from the applicant's employer in UAE, on company letterhead, introducing the applicant, indicating the applicant's employment status/position held in the company, and clearly stating the purpose of visit to Ghana.
  • The business letter must also indicate who will be financially responsible for the applicant and must provide detailed contact information in Ghana.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of their confirmed flight itinerary.
  • A copy of confirmed hotel reservations, including the name of the traveler and the exact dates of the stay in Ghana, is required.
  • Applicants are required to submit a copy of a valid certificate of vaccination against yellow fever.
