Basic Travel Requirements for Vietnameses visiting Belgium
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.
- A passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and with 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- A fully completed and signed visa application form.
- Parents or legal guardians are expected to sign the form for minor applicants.
- Two identical passport photographs not older than three months taken is required(35mm 0r 45mm).
- The travel documents must be duly completed.

Belgium Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Travelers traveling to Belgium for vacations need a tourist visa.
- A Belgian tourist visa is also known as short-term stay visa.
- A Belgium tourist visa is valid for 90 days.
- With a Belgium tourist visa you can spend most of your travel time in Belgium or enter other Schengen regions through a Belgian city.
- Belgian immigrant authorities offer you the opportunity to choose in which of the three national languages of Belgium you wish your application to be treated (French, German or Dutch).
- A travel insurance with a minimum of €30,000 coverage for medical emergencies, and repatriation in case of death is to be presented
- A traveler has to attest possessing €95 per day if staying in a hotel, and €45 when planning to get accommodated by cheaper means.
- Travelers who have violated local laws would be expelled, arrested, or imprisoned. Penalties for possessing using, or trafficking in illegal drugs in Belgium are severe, and convicted offenders can expect long jail sentences and heavy fines.

Belgium Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Belgium business visa allows Vietnamese citizens to visit for business purposes and activities.
- This visa is also for short stays in Belgium.
- The visa allows one to attend business conferences and meetings.
- A letter of invitation from the organisation you intend to visit is needed.
- You are required to provide a letter from your company in Vietnam which has your work and personal information.
- A confirmation/invitation from the conference organizer/institution is required before applicants are permitted to attend conferences and seminars.
- A letter of invitation that explains how the expenses of the applicant are going to be covered during the duration of stay is required.
- A ‘no-objection’ letter obtained from your employer is required to validate your current status and assure the embassy that you have permission to travel.
- Employed applicants need to present a certificate from their employers stating that they were aware of their leave.
- Bank statements from the last 6 months is needed during the application process.
- Self-employed people will submit proof of business registration of their business in Vietnam.
- Holders of this visa cannot be gainfully employed while in Belgium.
- You might not be granted entry even with a visa if the Belgian border officer doesn't grant you approval.
- Without a stamp on your passport, you could be fined or detained in Belgium.
- A piece of evidence that shows you have enough money to support yourself during your stay.
Belgium Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Vietnamese citizens are eligible to work in Belgium with a work visa.
- The work visa allows for both temporary and permanent stays in Belgium.
- A work permit has to be applied on your behalf by your employer.
- Only with a work permit can applicants be allowed to obtain a long-stay visa in Belgium.
- The work permit is also known as a Blue Card in Belgium.
- The work permit is categorized into three types:
- C work permit; all professions and all employers can apply for this type. It is valid for a limited time and must be renewed each year.
- B-work permit - valid for one employer and runs for one year, after which it can be renewed (by the same employer, usually for the same job or job classification). If you change employers, your new employer must apply for a new B permit. You may find that you have to return to your home country and re-apply for a residence visa before you can start your new job! Once you’ve renewed a B permit four or more times, i.e. have lived and worked in Belgium for four years on the same permit, you can receive an unlimited A permit.
- A-work permit - allows you to work for any employer in Belgium for an unlimited period of time. These permits are issued only to any foreigner who has lived and worked in Belgium for four years on a B permit and those with ten years’ uninterrupted (legal) residency in Belgium.
- The B permit is the standard form of work permit for most foreigners. Applying for a B permit is the responsibility of the employer wishing to hire a non-EU foreigner.
- Your potential employer has to provide a certificate of good health and three passport-size photos, with a copy of the proposed employment contract to the Ministry of Labour.
- The Ministry of Labour must determine that there are no Belgians or other EU nationals who can fill the position before your visa is approved.
- It takes up to 12 weeks for a B permit to be granted.
- Some categories of foreign employees and self-employed (EU citizens, too) must declare their activities in Belgium before starting to work in Belgium. This is called LIMOSA Declaration.
- Individuals aged between 18-26 who don’t hold a Belgian work visa can work in Belgium as an au pair if they and their host family meet certain conditions. This visa cannot exceed 12 months.
Belgium Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Belgian Student visa is for study purposes in Belgium.
- The Belgian student visa has two categories: short and long term study visa.
- A short-term student visa can be applied for the way Belgian tourist or short stay visas are applied for.
- Short-term student visa does not last more 90 days, applicants are expected to enrol in courses within that time frame.
- Long-term students are primarily for a longer study stay in Belgium. It lasts for more than 90 days.
- You are expected to have at least 654 euros per month while studying in Belgium.
- Those applying to study in Belgium are required to have health insurance.
- A police report showing you have no criminal record in your home country is required.
- Foreign students are not allowed to study and work in Belgium.
- In case another person residing in Belgium will cover your expenses throughout your stay in Belgium, you are expected to submit a proof of sponsorship.
