Basic Travel Requirements for Vietnameses visiting Portugal
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Portuguese Visa.
- An international passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
- A duly completed and signed visa application form should be submitted.
- If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
- Two passport-sized photographs (3mm x 45mm) taken on a plain white background.
- Travel document.
- Copy of return flight ticket(not always required, though).
- Your flight dates and times.
- Proof of sufficient funds to last your stay duration in Portugal.
- Proof of accommodation.
- Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
- Copy of travel itinerary.
- Evidence of your economic status ( if employed, self-employed, student, retired, etc...)
- Proof of civil status, if married, children, etc..
- Valid travel insurance which has a coverage of €30,000 for medical insurance.

Portugal Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Portuguese tourist visa is a visa issued to tourists all around the world including Vietnam nationals who are visiting Portugal for a leisure, vacation, visiting family and friends and other tourist-related activities.
- Portugal is part of the Schengen Area which is made up of 26 European countries, so a Schengen visa is required which will also enable you to tour around other Schengen countries.
- This visa is short-stay in nature with a maximum stay of 90 days with the option of multiple entries spreading over a period of 180 days in one calendar year.
- Tourists are required to register with Portuguese Immigration Service within three days of entering Portugal. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in an administrative offense punishable with a fine from €60 to €160.
- The following documents are also required:
- Your original passport and copies of your previous visas.
- Proof of travel insurance to cover you for the Schengen area.
- Cover letter stating the purpose of your visit and itinerary that includes your activities, flight dates and times, entry and exit out of Portugal.
- Bank statements for the last three months.
- Foreign travelers will not be liable to take up either paid or unpaid employment in the country.
- They are also not allowed to benefit from public services such as public hospitals while in Portugal, that's why they are to travel with their insurance worths a minimum of 30,000 Euros.

Portugal Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Portuguese business visa is a visa issued to foreign business travelers who are craving to exercise business activities in Portugal.
- The visa is a short stay visit into the country for a period of 3 months stay as a visitor into the country. However, you can travel multiple times within the 90 days duration available on your visa for a period up to 180 days.
- Your visa is processed in 15 days if all visa requirements are met by you on the visa form and all your documents are adequately submitted as required. It could exceed 15 days up to 30 or 60 days, however, if some information has to be verified or some cases arise.
- To avoid delay in your visa process, you are to apply three months prior to your travel to Portugal.
- Payment for the visa must be made in your local currency.
- While you are in the country with this visa, you can meet up with business partners for meetings and to negotiate and sign contracts.
- You can also attend trade fairs, conferences, and business summits while you are in the country.
- An invitation letter from the company you will be visiting in Portugal should be provided. The address of the company and the dates of your visit should be stated in the letter.
- If the company you are meeting with in Portugal will be responsible for your expenses while in the country, it should be stated in the letter.
- A letter is required from your employer in Vietnam stating awareness and allowance of your business travel for the duration of your time in the country.
- If the applicant of this visa has been in business with this company before, proof of such events must be provided.
- A certificate of business registration of your business partner in Portugal is required.
- You cannot be gainfully employed while you are in the country with this visa, neither can you attend academic related activities.
- Holders of this visa are expected to exit the country at the expiry of their visa.
- Your documents have to be translated, if not in English or Portuguese. You are to submit your documents with the original copies.
Portugal Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The student visa is meant for applicants intending to study in Portugal.
- A completed visa application form is required.
- Documents which confirm the your enrollment in any Portuguese school, the length of study.
- A police certificate is required to prove you have no criminal record.
- A travel itinerary detailing the exit and entry dates is required.
- A proof of financial sufficiency to show you cover your expenses during the duration of stay.
- A health insurance coverage is necessary during application process.
- A confirmed accommodation from the inviting institution if on campus or confirmed hotel reservations, stating name, address and telephone number of the hotel, including confirmation number.
Portugal Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The Portuguese work visa is a visa which allows its holders to legally work in Portugal.
- Portuguese work visa has two types;
- The short term work visa is meant for temporary residence lasting only for six months. It is available for employees and self employed foreigners. The temporary-stay visa can be extended up to one year if you are engaged in scientific research, academic teaching, or highly qualified professional activities, or certain training.
- While the long term visa is valid for more than six months. Once the visa is secured, you are expected to obtain a residence permit.
- Non-Portuguese citizens will need a work permit to work in any Portuguese company.
