  • Citizens of Vietnam can travel to Thailand for a period of 30 days without obtaining a visa.
  • Intending visitors must have a passport valid for a duration of six months beyond their arrival in Thailand. The passport must have at least a blank page.
  • On entry and exit into Thailand, the local currency can be imported and exported up to THB 50,000 per person and THB per family holding one passport.
  • The import and export of foreign currencies are unlimited. However, amounts exceeding USD 20,000 or its equivalent must be declared.

  • Vietnamese visiting Thailand with pets need to obtain an import permit in advance from the Department of Livestock Development. Also, they need to be in possession of a health certificate issued by an authorized government veterinarian within 10 days of departure and approved by the local health authorities in Vietnam.
  • Tourists should also have an onward or return ticket back to Vietnam and must show proof of sufficient funds throughout their stay in Thailand. 
  • A yellow fever vaccination certificate is not required from visitors from Vietnam on arrival in Thailand. They are advised to be vaccinated against common illness before travelling.
