Basic Travel Requirements for Zambians visiting Ireland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Irish Visa.

  • A completely filled visa application form.
  • The form should be filled and signed by the applicant except in the case of minors.
  • International passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the applicant’s intended stay.
  • Two 38 mm (width) x 45-50 mm (height)passport photograph with a white or light grey background.
  • Passport photographs no older than 6 months.
  • For children under the age of 18 traveling alone, birth certificate and consent note signed by both parents should be provided.
  • All documents submitted must be in the English Language.
  • Bank statement of the last 6 months.
  • Original copy and 2 photocopies of Police Clearance Certificate(PPC) attached to the application form.

Ireland Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Irish tourist visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting Ireland for tourism and leisure.
  • Foreigners who are traveling to Ireland on invitation from their friends or relatives can also apply for this visa.
  • If you are visiting a friend or relative in the country, a letter from your host is required. 
  • The letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host as well as the contact information of the host.
  • Applicants of this visa can study for a short period of time such as short-term English language courses.
  • Foreigners who are traveling for short studies must provide proof that they have accommodation for the duration of their stay in Ireland.
  • If you are employed, a letter from your employer is required. 
  • The letter should state confirmation of the applicant’s leave. 
  • The letter must also state the contact information of the company, length of employment of the applicant, and the salary level of the applicant.
  • If the applicant is under the age of 18 years, the tourist visa application should be made by their parent or legal guardian. 
  • The original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • This visa does not allow you to take up paid or unpaid employment of any kind while you are in Ireland.
  • Receipt of the non-refundable visa application fee is required.
  • Non-Zambians should provide a copy of their Zambian residence permit. 
  • This permit should be valid for at least three months from the intended period of the applicant’s exit from the country.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to use any publicly funded services.
  • The documents to be submitted during the visa application must be in English or Irish.
  • Proof that the applicant has the incentive of returning to Zambia is required.

Ireland Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa allows foreigners to travel to Ireland for business reasons. 
  • There is the short term business visa which allows you to be in the country for 90 days
  • There is also the short term business visa which allows you stay for 14 days.
  • This visa allows foreigners to work for 14 days or less.
  • Business travelers are permitted to negotiate and sign business contracts with their partner companies in the country.
  • Foreigners in Ireland for business can attend business summits, trade fairs, and conferences relating to their profession.
  • An official letter of invitation from the host company in Ireland should be provided. 
  • The letter must contain the contact information of the company, the nature of the business to be conducted, and the duration of the business visit.
  • The letter must also state who will bear the costs/expenses of the applicant throughout their entire stay.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Zambia is required. 
  • The letter should confirm the awareness and allowance of the applicant's business leave. 
  • The job position, length of employment, and salary level of the applicant should be stated in the letter.
  • Proof of previous trade relations between the host company and inviting company should be provided if there have been any.
  • Receipt of payment of visa application fees should be provided.
  • If you are not a citizen of Zambia, a copy of your Zambian residence permit is required.
  • Holders of this visa cannot rely on Irish public services.
  • You are expected to leave the country on or before the expiration of this visa.

Ireland Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who are traveling to Ireland for study and educational purposes.
  • Those who are going on internships or to write certain exams will be issued the short stay students visa which is valid for 90 days.
  • If you are going for a degree programme, you will need to apply for the long-stay student's visa which will be issued according to the length or duration of your programme.
  • A letter of acceptance from the institution the applicant has been accepted into is required. 
  • The letter should be printed on the institution’s letterhead and should state the course the applicant will be studying and the duration of the study programme.
  • Foreigners should ensure that they have the certificates and transcripts they obtained from their previous schools.
  • Students are allowed to work for a period of time as long as it does not interfere with the applicant’s study.
  • If you are not a Zambian citizen, a copy of your residence permit is required.
  • Applicants who are under the age of 18 years must provide the original copy of their birth certificate as well as a notarized consent signed by both their parents.
  • A valid receipt showing that the tuition fee for the course to be studied by the applicant has been paid is required.
  • If you are submitting a document that is not in English or Irish, it must be accompanied by a full translation.
  • Proof of the applicant’s proficiency in the English language is required.
  • Family members of minors cannot accompany them on this visa.
