Basic Travel Requirements for Zimbabweans visiting Nigeria

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Nigerian Visa.

  • A duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • A passport with at least 6 months' validity and an issuance date within 10 years of the application period.
  • Confirmation of online payment of the visa fee.
  • Two (2) passport-sized photos (35/40 mm) of high quality and taken in a clear background. 
  • Confirmed hotel reservation for applicants not staying with a host.
  • Proof of accommodation with a host in Nigeria for applicants who have been invited.
  • Proof of owning sufficient funds to stay in Nigeria.
  • Evidence of legal residency in Zimbabwe.
  • Police clearance showing you have no criminal record.
  • Medical insurance for the duration of stay
  • Return ticket to Zimbabwe or onward ticket to another country.

Nigeria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to those who want to go into Nigeria for tourism or to visit family.
  • You are required to get your visa online and pay for it online as well as cash payments for visas are prohibited.
  • A letter of invitation from your host accepting full immigration responsibility should be affixed with other documents.
  • Proof of confirmed hotel reservation should be submitted if the applicant is not staying with a host.
  • For persons younger than 18, photocopies of parents' passports (bio-data page) or valid ID must accompany the application as well as proof of payment of visa fees.
  • There should be a copy of the child's birth certificate.
  • A written letter of consent jointly signed by both parents would be needed as well.
  • You are to submit via post to the Embassy of Nigeria where you are resident or in person at the embassy.
  • Applicants may be invited for an interview at the embassy.
  • Foreigners with this visa type can visit all the tourist sites in the country without restriction.
  • It is mandatory for all travelers going to Nigeria to have a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.

Nigeria Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to applicants who want to go into Nigeria for commercial purposes.
  • You can also attend conferences, trade fairs, and business lectures while in the country.
  • The Nigeria business visa is valid for 90 days but can be extended if necessary.
  • There should be a letter of invitation from the host company in Nigeria accepting full immigration and financial responsibility as well as stating the purpose of visit (and duration of stay).
  • A letter of introduction from the applicant's company or organization would be needed.
  • Receipt of the paid visa application fee is required.
  • A certificate of Yellow Fever vaccination is mandatory.
  • Note that you cannot take up paid employment using this visa.
  • Holders of this visa are to leave at the expiration of their visa.

Nigeria Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Transit Visa is available to citizens of all countries except ECOWAS Nationals who do not require visa to visit Nigeria and other countries which Nigeria has entered into visa abolition agreements.
  • Foreign Travelers wishing to enter Nigeria and travel to their onward destination outside the country.
  • You should have a confirmed ticket for connecting flight to the destination country.
  • This visa has a validity of 48 hours.
  • Note that this visa is not valid for employment.
