Basic Travel Requirements for Zimbabweans visiting United Kingdom

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Briton Visa.


  • A completed visa application form which must have been filled online. 
  • A valid passport with a page that is blank on both sides.
  • Passport-sized photographs (2x 2') taken on a white background.
  • Proof of visa fee payment.
  • Proof of finances (e.g. original bank statement that is not older than 3 months).
  • Confirmation of accommodation and flight bookings.
  • A letter of invitation if you are being sponsored by a friend or family member.
  • Original marriage certificate if you are traveling with your spouse.
  • Birth certificates for minors (if they are traveling).
  • Travel medical insurance that covers the entire duration of your stay.
  • A signed detailed letter explaining the purpose of traveling to Great Britain.
  • A return flight ticket to Zimbabwe or a signed undertaking to return to your country of origin (for long-stay travelers).

Can I work in the UK with a visitor visa?

No, you cannot work in the UK with a visitor visa. You may, however, be able to study for up to 30 days as long as that is not the main reason for your travel to the UK.


Can I extend my stay in the UK if I have a Visitor Visa?

If you hold a Standard Visitor visa, you can apply for an extension as long as your total stay in the UK does not exceed 6 months. That is, if you apply for a 3-month visa, you can apply for an extension for an additional 3 months.


Is the Great Britain safe?

Yes, it is one of the safest places in the world.  However, remember to always observe caution whenever you are in unfamiliar territory.


Can I travel with an expired passport?

No, it is highly intolerable to apply for a visa with an expired passport. You are to get it renewed before applying for a UK visa.
