  • Algerians who want to visit Mali can do so without a visa. 
  • The duration of stay allowed is  30 days.
  • All travelers are expected have a return/onward ticket, as well as a proof of hotel accommodation
  • An international certificate of vaccination  is required for travelers with pets.  And it is 
  • Algerians visiting Mali will require a passport with six months of validity and with at least two blank pages for stamps on arrival and departure.
  • Movement in Mali is made possible with  informal buses and taxis around  urban centers. Bamako in particular is known for its green and yellow taxi fleet.
  • The acceptable currency used in Mali is the Malian Franc.
  • There is no restrictions to the importation of local currency and foreign currencies. But it must be declared when the amount exceeds XOF 25,000 in order to facilitate re-exportation.
  • Travelers are expected to import  1000 cigarettes or 250 cigars or 2 kilograms of tobacco, 2 bottles of alcoholic beverages, a reasonable quantity of perfume for personal use on a free custom duty.  
  • Mali’s population is approximately 95% Muslim.The remaining 10 percent of Malians practice indigenous or traditional beliefs or Christianity. 
  • Travelers can exchange foreign currencies against the CFA franc in currency bureaus (bureaus de change) when arriving in Mali. Bureaus de change are located in the international airport as well as in major cities. 
  • Local and long-distance telephones, fax, and Internet services are available in Bamako and other major cities. Internet service providers in Bamako including Orange, Afribone, and Malitel. 
  • Mali has two different plugs: C and E. The voltage is 220 and the frequency is 50 Hz. 
  • French is the official language in Mali and is mostly used by businesspersons.  Local languages (especially Bambara) are also widely spoken, particularly outside of Bamako.
