Basic Travel Requirements for Angolans visiting Malaysia

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Malaysian Visa.

  • An Angolan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date or beyond intended stay. 
  •  One or two blank pages are required for entry stamp. 
  • A fully completed visa application form.
  • Passports with Israeli stamps are not allowed entry. 
  • Three passport-size photographs (50 x 3.5 cm) taken on a white background.
  • Travel document must be completely provided.
  • Proof of financial capability.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations.
  • A copy of return or onward flight ticket. 
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country.

Malaysia Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Holders of a Malaysian visitor visa can visit Malaysia for a short period of time. 
  • Angolans travelling to Malaysia for tourism, business or family visitations are eligible for this type of visa. 
  • This visa allows holders to visit relatives and families, attend conferences and seminars, and take part in sports competitions.  
  • This type of visa is sub-divided into a single or multiple entry visa. 
  • The single-entry visa is valid for a maximum of 90 days and allows only one entry into Malaysia.
  • You would be required to apply for a new visa if you leave Malaysia before the departure date stated on the single-entry visa and you want to re-enter.
  • The multiple-entry visa is valid for more than 90 days or 180 days from the date of issuance and allows as many entries as possible within the validity period.
  • For each entry with a multiple-entry visa, the number of stay allowed is up to 30 days.
  • Tour groups are not eligible to apply for a Multiple Entry Visa.
  • The Malaysia visa can be applied for online. But it is only available to the citizens of China, India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Serbia and Montenegro.
  • All visa applications are reviewed by the Government of Malaysia.
  • Visa with reference is a  visa issued after the application is being referred and approved by the Department of Immigration Malaysia / Other Agencies of Authority. While visa without reference is a visa issued after approval by the High Commission of Malaysia. 
  • Visa with reference is required for students, those seeking employment, dependents and professionals on a visit pass. 
  • Visa without reference is required for the purpose of a social visit.
  •  A social visa pass stamp is given to applicants on their applicants to show they are allowed to enter Malaysia.
  • The social visa pass stamps on visas are known as visas without references.  
  • Applicants are expected to declare their financial status to serve as evidence that they can afford their stay in Malaysia. 
  • The immigration counter at the entry point has the absolute authority to decide whether or not travellers can enter Malaysia. Permission to enter and remain in Malaysia is at the decision and discretion of the Malaysian Immigration Department.
  • Angolans intending to visit Malaysia can extend their visitor visa while in Malaysia.
  • The entry stamp by immigration officials on your passport authorizes your stay for 90 days.  
  • If you overstay your visa, you will not be allowed to exit Malaysia until you resolve the overstay with the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

Malaysia Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Work permits are issued to Angolans who intend to work in Malaysia.
  • The validity of the work permits is for a period between 6 months to 5 years. 
  • Work permits can be in the form of either long-duration employment passes, temporary employment passes or professional visit passes granted to foreigners.
  • Malaysian work visa is subdivided into three types;
          Employment Pass: Is issued to employees with specific skills, which are usually for technical or managerial jobs. The duration of stay with this type of pass is two(2) years.
          Temporary Employment Pass:  is issued for employment for less than 2 years.
          Professional Visit Pass: is issued to foreigners  who were  employed by the company in their home country but are required by the  Malaysian company to provide certain services for a period up to 6 months
  • A passport valid for at least 6 months after entry into Malaysia, with at least three blank pages is required.
  • An offer letter, acceptance letter or employment contract would be needed as proof of employment in the country.
  • A Letter of Approval from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Malaysia is also required.
  • An approved medical report of the applicant should be submitted with other documents.
  • Applicants can attach a Letter of Recommendation from a relevant company or agency in Malaysia. Documents relating to the applicant's sponsor should also be submitted. 
  • Applicants are to provide copies of their educational qualifications and Curriculum Vitae. 
  • Applicants for this type of visa should be 27 years of age and above.  For those applying in the IT sector, the minimum age is 23 years.
  • The work permit should be obtained by the Malaysian company employing the applicant. 
  • Employees and their families coming to Malaysia, who have not obtained work permits before arrival are allowed to enter the country on social passes and to obtain the work permit afterwards.

Malaysia Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Malaysia visa is issued to foreigners who want to study in Malaysia in any recognized educational institution.  
  • All travel documents must be completed for the application.
  • Student visas for Malaysia are part of the Visa with Reference types that need inquiry before they are applied for. Inquiries are made by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
  • Applicants are required to submit the Offer or Acceptance letter from the educational institute where they plan to pursue their education.
  • Students who wish to transfer to a university or college need a release letter from their previously attended university or college, as well as their attendance reports and academic performance reports.
  • A copy of all the performance records is also necessary.
  • To obtain a Malaysian student visa you will first need to apply for a Student Pass. Once you have an approved provisional Student Pass you will be issued a student visa upon your point of entry into Malaysia. You will receive a full Student Pass once in the country.
  • Once you have been accepted by a Malaysian institution they will submit an application for a Student Pass on your behalf.
  • A proof of purchase of a Malaysian health insurance has to be submitted by the applicant.
