Basic Travel Requirements for Angolans visiting Mexico

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Mexican Visa.

  • An Angolan passport valid at arrival with at least one blank page for entry stamp.

Mexico Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Mexican tourist visa allows foreigners to visit Mexico for the purpose of sight-seeing, relaxation and recreation.
  • Angolans with the intention of visiting relatives and families are expected to apply for a Mexican Tourist visa.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least three months beyond your intended period of stay. If otherwise, you should consider getting your passport renewed before travelling.
  • An invitation letter from the host in Mexico is needed. The letter should state the valid home address and telephone number of your host.
  • Holders of a Mexican tourist visa are free to attend festivals and other social events.
  • A proof that you are financially capable to support yourself during your stay in Mexico must be provided. This is usually done by way of presenting bank or credit card statements.
  • You are expected to have at least USD 50 per day for your stay in Mexico.
  • A copy of your round-trip or tour ticket is required.
  • Applicants are required to present a letter from their current employer stating awareness of leave. Your position in the company, the term of your employment, and the duration of your leave should also be stated in the letter.
  • People who are under or 18 years old are to provide an unabridged original copy of their birth certificate. A letter of consent signed by both your parents is a necessity if they will be travelling without their parents.
  • A document which shows that you have the incentive of returning to your country at the expiry of your visa should be submitted during the visa application process, e.g., proof of family ties or a stable job in the applicant's home country.
  • Evidence that the visa application fee has been paid is required.
  • On this visa, Angolans are not allowed to take up employment during their time in the country.
  • Travelers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever and malaria before traveling to Mexico.
  • At the end of your authorized stay you are to leave Mexico.  Overstaying your visa is an offence that comes with serious consequences. You may be fined or banned from entering Mexico.
  • Visa is required by all except those who can obtain a Blue Tourist Card for the tourism purpose from their airline on direct flights, at the port of entry, or from the Mexican Consulate before travelling.
  • For the Application of Blue Tourist Cards, a valid passport, return/onward ticket and proof of financial means is required by the applicant.
  • ALL foreign citizens travelling to Mexico are expected to fill out an Official Entry Immigration Form (FMM) prior to their arrival to Mexico.
  • The Mexican tourist visa validity lasts for  six months just for a  single entry, but can be extended double and multiple entry in particular circumstances.
  • Visas must be used within 90 days of issue.
  • Applicants seeking extensions for their visas are to apply for it 30 days before the expiry date. 

Mexico Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Mexico business visa allows Angolans visiting Mexico to engage in various business activities.
  • Angolans with this type of visa can attend business meetings and conferences, sign and negotiate business contracts with partner companies while in the country.
  • A passport with at least six months validity must be provided.
  • A recent passport photograph is also needed for the application process and taken on a white background. 
  • Applicants of this visa who intend to attend business conferences in the country are advised to register for the conference before they leave Angola. The certificate of registration should be submitted with the other necessary documents.
  • A letter of invitation written on the company’s letterhead should be provided. The letter should state the duration and purpose of your visit to Mexico.
  • A letter in Spanish from your company indicating that you are an employee and that the services you will provide in Mexico will be paid for by your company must be provided.
  • If the travel expenses of the applicant will not be covered by the company, this should be expressly stated in the letter.
  • The certificate of business registration of the inviting company in Mexico is required.
  • Proof that you are a Angolan resident must be provided. Non-citizens should provide a copy of their stay permit.
  • Minors should ensure the original copy of their birth certificate is submitted with the other required documents. A letter of consent signed by both parents is also required.
  • Applicants on this visa cannot be paid for the services they render while they are in the country.
  • You are required to leave Mexico at the expiration of your visa.
  •  Applicants have to declare their last three bank statements and letter stating current salary, or original letter from the person who financially supports them.
  • If you are planning to go to Mexico on a business trip for more than 30 days, you need to apply for a business visa for multiple entries.  

Mexico Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Angolans who want to take part-time or full-time courses in one of the recognized institutions in Mexico are eligible for this visa.
  • Applicants of this visa should ensure they have been offered admission into the school they applied for before applying for the visa.
  • The applicant's original passport and a photocopy of the information page of the passport must be provided.
  • One passport-sized photograph with a white background is required.
  • The applicant has to provide an original admission letter written on the school’s letterhead. This proves that you have been offered admission into the school and you can attend classes.
  • You are to declare your bank account statements to prove that you have sufficient funds for your study in Mexico.
  • If you have a scholarship, you should be able to present the scholarship letter from the institution, mentioning the exact amount of the scholarship.
  • Certificates and transcripts from previously attended schools should be submitted during the visa application process.
  • Proof that you have paid the tuition fee for your particular program of study should be provided.
  • International students are permitted to work part-time for 20 hours per week when school is in session and full-time when the school is on break.
  • A  minor would have to provide the original copy of their birth certificate. Also, a notarized letter of consent signed by both parents should be provided.
  • The Mexico student visa can be extended to cover the duration of the study program in the country.
  • Students who will be in Mexico for less than 180 days can gain entry into Mexico with a tourist card, which has a maximum duration of 180 days.
  • For students staying for more than 180 days, they have to apply for a student visa to gain entry. 
  • You are allowed to obtain a temporary resident card once you get into the country.
  • Foreigners should ensure they abide by all the rules guiding their visa.
  • It is mandatory for travellers to be vaccinated against yellow fever before travelling to Mexico.

Mexico Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants of this visa have the intention of boarding a connecting flight from Mexico to their destination country.
  • A visa is not actually required to transit through Mexico on the way to another destination, as long as the connection time does not exceed 24 hours.
  • The situation also applies if the applicant's flight arrangement is non-stop, without intermediate stops within Mexican territory.
  • The traveller must be in possession of a valid passport.
  • A round-trip or onward ticket, and a valid visa for the next destination must also be presented.
  • On arrival into Mexico, the traveller is escorted to the transit hall of the Mexico City International Airport.
  • The traveller will remain in custody of an agent of the National Immigration Service who holds passports and/or travel documents until the passenger boards the connecting flight.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to work or study while they are in the country.
  • If you are a minor, a letter of consent signed by both your parents should be provided. The original copy of your birth certificate is also required.
  • All travellers are advised to be vaccinated against yellow fever before departing their country.
  • The Mexico transit visa cannot be extended beyond 30 days.
