Application requirements

Documents Angolan applicants need to provide.

  • An Angolan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must contain 2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • The parents or legal guardians are to sign the form if the applicant is a minor.
  • Two identical passport-size photographs (4.5 x 60 cm) must be submitted. The photograph must be taken on a white background.
  • Travel document must be completely provided.
  • Proof of financial capability.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country.
  • A police report showing the traveller does not have a criminal record.
  • Medical insurance that covers the duration of stay.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
  • Applicants are to provide a proof of the paid visa application fee.
  • Bank statements dating back to the last three months.

Visa type details

Tourist visa

  • The tourist visa is issued to Angolans who want to visit Myanmar for tourism and leisure purposes.
  • The tourist visa allow Angolans to stay in Myanmar for a minimum of 28 days.
  • The tourist visa is extendable. It can be extended for 14 days.
  • The Myanmar visa can be applied for on a single entry basis. This means you can gain entry once within the validity period.
  • The Myanmar tourist visa can be applied for online. But Angolans are not eligible to apply online. They are expected to apply at an Embassy or consulate.
  • The Myanmar e-visa is designed to make the process of application simpler for visitors – particularly those from countries that do not have a Myanmar embassy.
  • The visa validity is for one or three months. It is advisable not to apply too early for the visa.
  • When you overstay on your visa, you might encounter some difficulties booking travel and/or hotels in your overstay period, as not all service staff are aware of the overstay allowance.
  • Your passport has to be valid for at least six months from the date of departure from Myanmar.
  • If you are applying for a paper visa, embassies and consulates might take one day to more than two weeks to process your application.
  • You are expected to provide a proof of your accommodation in Myanmar during the duration of your visit to Myanmar. It should state the address if it is a hotel or the legal residence of the host.

  • The Myanmar business visa is for Angolans who want to visit Myanmar for business purposes or have commercial interests in Myanmar.
  • The holders of a business visa can also take up employment or stay in Myanmar for a period of time.
  • An Angolan intending to work with a Myanmar company is expected to obtain a work permit.
  • The work permit is subdivided into two types; the stay permit and the multiple re-entry permit.
  • The stay permit allows the holder to work in Myanmar for three months or one year without re-entry into Myanmar. The stay permit is valid for a single entry.
  • The Multi Re-Entry Permit allows the holder to work in Myanmar for one year with periods of international travel during its validity.
  • Both the stay and multi re-entry are renewable.
  • The Myanmar business visa is categorized into multiple and single entry type.
  • The single entry visa allows for a single entry in Myanmar.
  • The multiple-entry visa allows foreigners to gain entry into Myanmar multiple times.
  • The validity of the single-entry business visa is for a period of 70 days.
  • While the validity of the multiple-entry business visa is for a period of six months or a one-year entry and are processed manually.
  • The multiple-entry visas are usually issued when you have previously received three single-entry visas.
  • A recognized and registered company or government body in Myanmar have to provide a letter of invitation stating the purpose of visit of the applicant.
  • Receipts of certifying the payment of the applicant’s tax is to be submitted.
  • Business visas are extendable over a cost price of $3 for overstay and must be within three months of being issued.
  • Visa fees are not refundable.
  • Processing time is within 3 days excluding Saturdays and Sundays.
  • A certificate of registration from a foreign investment commission is required.
  • Visa documentation for a Myanmar business visa include a photograph of the applicant and evidence of the travel itinerary.
