Austria Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Austrian visa is issued to individuals who want to visit friends or family members in Austria.
  • This visa is usually valid for a maximum stay of 90 days in every 180 days.
  • You can also use this visa for sight-seeing, holidaying or attending ceremonies in Austria.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to take up any form of employment during their stay, neither are they allowed to study.

  • The letter should also state the individual's position at work and remuneration.
  • An invitation letter is required from the partner company in Austria showing their detailed address and the date of their visit.
  • Applicants are to present proof of how they intend to fund their trip. Either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.
  • Hotel reservation is required for all individuals travelling to Austria for business purposes.
  • Before travelling you must have travel insurance to cover any emergency that could occur during your trip.
  • If your passport is older than 10 years, then you would have to apply for a new one.
  • The passport should be valid for 3 months beyond your stay in Austria.
