Argentina Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Argentina tourist visa is granted to individuals who intend visiting Argentina for recreation, leisure or vacation purposes.
  •  Cameroonians visiting friends and family in Argentina are also eligible for this visa or can apply for a visit visa. 
  •  Argentina tourist visa is issued for a short term period of time. 
  • The validity of a tourist visa is usually between 30-90 days.
  • When you apply for a tourist visa, it takes about 3-5 days before approval is granted.
  • People who intend to travel to Argentina to visit friends and family are to provide an invitation letter stating the home address, telephone number and a valid means of identification of the host.
  • You are expected to write the invitation letters in Spanish. Letters not written in Spanish might be regretted. 
  • An international passport with a validity of not less than six months is needed to process the visa. 
  • Cameroonians who wish to apply for an Argentina tourist visa are to submit 2 copies of a 4*4 cm dimension passport photographs.
  •  Before your proposed journey, you are advised to apply for the visa at least 45 days prior to the intended visit. 
  •  You are not to make irrevocable travel plans until the visa has been issued or granted to you.
  • To be granted the visa, you will have to visit the Embassy physically. 
  • A proof of accommodation or hotel reservation for the period of time they intend to spend in Argentina is one of the requirements during the visa application. 
  • An evidence of your immigration status and round trip reservation is required too.  
  • Cameroonians with this type of visa are not permitted to carry out any form of business activity during their duration of stay in Argentina.
  • Your financial capability has to be proven either through bank statement or any other acceptable means and is to be presented at the Embassy.
  • Employed applicants require a letter from their employer in Cameroon confirming the details and duration of their employment as well as remuneration details.
  •  Self-employed  Cameroonians applying for this visa have to present a copy of their certificate of business registration and last tax return.
  • Non-Cameroon citizens must provide a copy of their stay permit in Cameroon.
  • Minors are to provide original copy of their birth certificate as well as a consent letter signed by both the parents written in or translated to Spanish. 
  • Under this visa, Cameroonians cannot study in any of the country's institution of learning.
  • Applicants are to submit a document which serves as an evidence of returning to his/her country.
  • Receipt of visa application fee is to be provided. 
  • Electronic items which include laptops, cameras and cell(mobile) phones can be imported into the country duty-free, as long as they are not intended for resale. 
  • Once you have gained entry into Argentina, you are expected to be with your means of identification at all times. A photocopy of your passport will come in handy when you want to enter government buildings, get tax-free purchases or change money at the bank. 

Argentina Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • Cameroonians can take up paid employment in  Argentina with this type of visa. 
  • The Argentinian work visa has three types; Short term visas are issued for short term work in Argentina. The initial validity is of 15 days and can be extended for another 15 days once in Argentina.
  •  The Labor contract Temporary Residence Visa is issued for employees and people on internships contracted by companies in Argentina. The minimum duration is 6–12 months. A formal labor contract between the company in Argentina and the employee is required in order to obtain the visa.
  • The Secondment Temporary Residence Visa under provision 18/94 is issued to employees sent abroad by their company for at least 6–12 months. A labor contract is not required. 
  • Anyone applying for this visa is expected to have been offered a job in Argentina before initiating the application process.
  • Your future employer or employing company in Argentina has to write a letter stating the address of the company and the job description. 
  • A copy of your employment contract which determines the terms of employment and signed by both the employer and the employee is to be submitted.
  • Evidence which proves that there was no Argentine willing and available to take up the job before the position was given to you is to be submitted to the embassy/consulate.
  • Without the right qualification that matches the job offered the visa may not be issued. 
  • The new employer has to pay you above the country's minimum wage and a proof of that must be submitted to the embassy/consulate.
  • A medical report from your local doctor stating that you are in good health should be submitted.
  • Applicants of an Argentine work visa having a contract with an Argentine company or institution have to sign an employment agreement in the presence of the consul. 
  • Once employees arrive in Argentina, they also need to apply for a DNI/ National Identity Document and a CUIL/ Unique Code for Work Identification. A DNI is a small document which contains information about your identity.  

Argentina Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • This visa is issued to Cameroonians who intend to participate in short business activities during their stay in Argentina.
  • Having an Argentine business visa allows you to negotiate and sign business contracts with their partner companies in the country. 
  • Holders of this visa are also allowed to attend conferences, trade fairs, and business summits.
  • If you have been invited by a company in Argentina, the company must be registered with the National Registry of Petitioners on behalf of Foreign Applicants (RENURE) of the National Directorate of Migration. 
  • At least 45 days before your departure date, you are to start your visa application process. 
  • The visa processing time takes about 5-7 working days and has a 90 days validity.
  • A letter of invitation from your business partner in Argentina stating the purpose and duration of your visit to the country is to be submitted to the embassy/consulate.
  • Your current employer has to write a letter which confirms the duration and purpose of your trip if you are an employed Cameroonian citizen and present it to the embassy/consulate.
  • The letter should also contain the details of all businesses and persons to contact in Argentina.
  • Self-employed citizens who own their own businesses are to submit a copy of their certificate of business registration and last tax return.
  • A proof of accommodation or hotel reservation for your stay in Argentina is to be provided among other documents.
  • Applicants are advised not to make non-refundable payment when their approval has not been granted.
  • A letter clearly stating If your employer is going to be financial responsible for your trip is to be submitted. 
  • If you have had former business dealings with your host company in Argentina, you are to present it at the Embassy during the visa processing.  
  • At the expiration of your visa, you are expected to return to your home country with no delays.
  • Cameroonians are advised to get Yellow fever vaccination before leaving their country.
  • All the documents must be written or translated into Spanish.

Argentina Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • Those who intend to seek medical treatment in Argentina are eligible for this type of visa. 
  • You have to provide a medical report from a hospital in Argentina confirming that you are to be admitted for treatment and the duration of the treatment is to be sent to the embassy.
  • Your medical condition and the reason the treatment should be stated in the letter and be submitted.
  • All the documents must be written or translated to Spanish with the institution's letterhead and signed by the person in charge.
  • Employed applicants have to get a letter from their employer stating the duration of your leave.  Your status in the company and the duration of your employment should also be stated in the letter.
  • You are expected to submit a document which shows that they have the incentive of returning back home after you are done with your treatment.
  • Minors are expected to submit a copy of their birth certificate and a letter of consent from the parents if they are travelling with one or none of their parents.
  • You have to show documents which prove you are financially capable to foot the medical bill to be incurred during the treatment. 
  • Receipt for visa application fee should be presented during the application process.

Argentina Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Transit Visa is issued to Cameroonians making stopovers or boarding connecting flights in Argentina.
  • With this visa, foreigners can board a connecting flight from an airport in Argentina to the destination country.
  •  Holders of this visa are permitted to transit through a port in Argentina to a third destination.
  • The visa and other entry permits to the destination country are required.
  • The validity of a transit visa is 48 hours.
  • You are to submit a flight ticket to your destination country.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to work while they are in the country.
  • Cameroonians with the transit visa are not allowed to study in Argentina. 
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.

Argentina Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements


  • Foreign students who want to study in any of the institutions in Argentina are the eligible candidates for this visa.
  • Students who intend to pursue non-formal studies, student exchange programs and partial studies lasting no more than 90 days will be given a tourist visa.
  • Every applicant has to provide a letter of acceptance from the institution they have been admitted into. This letter should be written on the institution's letterhead and signed by the head of the institution.
  • A police report which shows you don't have any criminal record, translated to Spanish and authenticated by the Argentine embassy or consulate is required. 
  • You have to provide proof of tuition fee payment for the duration of your study. 
  • Foreign students are allowed to work part-time for 20 hours when school is in session and full-time when school is on break.
  • Applicants should present certificates and transcripts from previously attended schools. 
  • An evidence of your financial sufficiency covering the applicant's stay and study expenses for the duration of study is necessary. 
  • Persons who are under 18 years old are to submit the original copy of their birth certificate along with a letter of consent signed by both parents during the visa application. 
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee should be provided.
  • All the documents submitted by applicants should be written or translated to Spanish.
  • Once your documents have been approved, the immigration officer will give you a preliminary certificate of residence or the "certificado de residencia precaria." 
  • After 20 days, you are expected to return to the immigration office to pick up your official student visa document.
  • After six months of studying in Argentina, you will have to re-apply for another student visa.
  • When the duration of your study program is more than a year you have to exit Argentina to re-apply for a new student visa.
