Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Brazil

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Brazilian Visa.

  • A Cameroonian passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date.
  •  The passport has to have  2 blank pages for visa stamp.
  •  A duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • A minor’s application form has to be signed by his/her parents. 
  • Three recent  identical  passport-size photographs (5 x 7 cm).
  • The travel document must be completely provided.
  • The traveller has to show proof of sufficient funds to cover their duration of stay.  
  • Proof of accommodation has to be provided even if the applicant is staying with a host or at a hotel. 
  • Travellers are to provide a copy of their onward or return flight. 
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to the home country.
  • A report from the police in the applicant’s home country to show he/she does not have a criminal record.
  • Medical insurance that covers the duration of stay.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel.
  • A copy of travel itinerary from a travel agency. 
  • Applicants are to provide proof of the paid visa application fee.

Other Atlantic Forest, Campos Gerais, Pantanal, and waterfalls. There is a plethora of beaches that tourists can visit to cool-off and a number of festivals to keep their feet and body moving all through their stay. Brazil is also known to be a popular destination to engage in business activities. The country has one of the 7 Wonders of the World, the Christ the Redeemer statue.

In 2015, the number of tourist visit exceeded 6 million and this contributed to about $5.8 billion to the economy, continuing a recovery trend from the 2008-2009 economic crisis. An all-time high of 5.4 million visitors and $6.8 billion were attained in 2011.
  
Citizens of Armenia, Austria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom can stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa. Venezuelans can also visit the country for 60 days without a visa.

Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians travelling to Brazil for tourism, business, transit, artistic or sporting activities are eligible for a Brazil tourist visa 
  • International passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the date of departure is required during the application process. 
  • The passport must contain at least two blank pages and the passport must not be torn, separated or altered.
  • The fully completed application form should be written in Portuguese  as well as the documents needed during the visa application process. 
  • Payments from Brazilian sources such as reimbursement of travel expenses, cash prizes, may be received by foreigners on the visitor’s visa. Before receiving these payments, applicants will have to submit comprehensive paperwork related to the visit along with their application documents.
  • The validity of a Brazilian tourist visa is for  90 days.
  • The Brazilian tourist visa is extendable only for a duration of 90 days. An extension must be made at the federal police on arrival. 
  • The duration and extension of your stay must not exceed 180 days per any one year period.
  • The tourist visa allows for multiple entries during a one year period. This means you can gain entry into Brazil for more than once. 
  •  A copy of your driver's license with address details as it appears on the application form is required.  A recent notarized copy of a lease or notarized major utility bill (Water, Gas, Electric)  showing the applicants name and current address is to be provided too. 
  • A travel insurance which covers the applicant during the duration of stay is to be provided.  
  • Holders of this visa can participate in conferences, seminars, congresses or meetings, voluntary service or research activity, educational or academic extension.
  • For those participating in conferences, seminars, athletic or artistic events, and competitions, an original invitation letter from the organizing institution in Brazil is required
  • With this type of visa, holders can render professional services during the duration of their stay.
  • Cameroonians who intend to travel to Brazil for a short period to perform sports/artistic activities can use this type of visa. The beneficiary of the visa is allowed to receive prizes in Brazil, including cash prizes.
  • For children under the age of 18, both parents must sign the application form. A valid photo ID of both parents is required, along with the original copy of the birth certificate.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should also be provided.
  •  A copy of round trip tickets or a letter signed by a travel agent is to be submitted. The flight itinerary should show flights into and out of the country. 
  • • A letter addressed to the "Consulate of Brazil, Visa Section" explaining exactly how, when, and where you will be entering and leaving Brazil is also one of the visa application requirements. 
  • A copy of your most recent monthly bank statement to prove you are capable of being financially responsible while you are in Brazil.  
  •  For applicants between the ages of 3 months and 6 years, a certificate of vaccination against Polio is required. If the child cannot be inoculated, a notarized letter from the child's physician is to be submitted.
  • If you plan to travel with your pet, you are expected to submit an international health certificate issued by your vet doctor in your home country. Or a completed application form from the Ministry of Agriculture and a rabies vaccination certificate.  

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonians are required to travel to Brazil with a Brazilian work visa for work purposes.
  • Cameroonians are expected to provide proof of a job contract to be granted a Brazilian business visa. 
  • The Brazilian work visa has two types; the temporary and permanent work visa.
  • Temporary work visa can be issued for only two years. It allows holders to stay for a maximum of two years in Brazil. For an extension, the request has to be made not later than 30 days before the visa’s expiration.  
  • Only a two-year extension can be granted on a temporary work visa.  After this four-year period, the company can apply for a permanent work visa. 
  • As a foreigner holding a temporary visa, you are not allowed to change employers in Brazil without permission.
  • Permanent work visa is usually issued to foreigners who are entitled to a permanent residence in Brazil.
  •  Professional researchers or scientists (for activities exceeding a period of two years), investors (provided the investment sum exceeds US$ 50,000 for natural persons or US$ 200,000 for companies) and manager or directors are eligible for a permanent work visa.
  • To have a paid job in Brazil, you are expected to have both a residence permit (either temporary or permanent) and a work visa (Autorizaçao de Trabalho).
  • All the documents to be approved by the Brazilian authorities have to be translated into Portuguese and signed before being submitted. 
  • If you do not have an employment letter then you are required to provide a job offer letter from a Brazilian company as evidence. 
  • Only individuals who intend to work with a registered Brazilian company are issued  work visas and work permits. 
  • Application has to be approved by the Brazil Ministry of labour. The work visa is usually processed at a Brazilian embassy or consulate or consulate in Cameroon. 
  • The applicant’s employer in Brazil is to submit the work contract to Brazil's ministry of labour.
  • The sponsoring institution or company is saddled with the responsibility of carrying out all the formalities at the Ministry of Labour in Brazil for the work visa process after the ministry of labour approves. 
  • Work visas can only be processed at the Consular Section once a visa approval notice is issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labour.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to present a Police Certificate issued within the last 3 months, certifying absence of criminal record.
  • Minors have to provide a notarized consented letter signed by both parents. Also, the original copy of your birth certificate is required.

Brazil Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Cameroonian students who want to study in Brazil can apply for a student visa to attend regular courses or participate in exchange or internship programmes.
  • Whilst studying in Brazil, foreigners can take up legal employment in Brazil compatible with their course load.
  • You are to provide a proof of financial capacity that covers your study during the duration of stay.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of payment of tuition fee.
  • Holders of this visa can gain entry into Brazil multiple times. 
  • A proof of health insurance which covers the applicant during the duration of stay is to be submitted. 
  • Applicants applying for this visa are required to present a copy of their stay permit.
  • If your study programme is less than 90 days, you must apply for the visitor’s visa instead.
  • A letter of acceptance from the academic institution you have been accepted to is required. The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.
  • Your police certificate certifying the absence of criminal record should not be more than three months old. 
  • Minors are required to have their original birth certificate accompanied with a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
  • A receipt that shows payment of visa application fee has been made.
