Basic Travel Requirements for Cameroonians visiting Germany
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a German Visa.
- Cameroonian passport with a validity of 3 months after the intended date of exit from the country and shouldn't be more than ten years old. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps.
- A fully completed visa application form which has been signed where necessary.
- One bio metric passport-size photograph taken with a white background(36mm-45mm). The passport must not be older than 3 months old.
- You are submit to bank statements of the past three months prior to the period to your visa application. This is proof that you can cater for yourself during your stay in the country.
- A valid travel insurance policy with a coverage of €30,000 for medical insurance.
- A proof of accommodation whether it is a hotel reservation or you will be staying with a host for the duration of your stay in the country.
- A copy of your return or onward ticket.
- A copy of travel itinerary.
- Receipt of your visa application fee.
- A sponsorship letter is required which confirms they will be financially supporting your trip to the Schengen if your trip expenses is to be sponsored another person.

Germany Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Travelers who intend to travel to Germany for sightseeing, relaxation and recreation purposes are eligible for this type of visa.
- With this visa, foreigners can visit their friends and relatives who reside in Germany.
- This visa is for only short stay visits in Germany.
- Cameroonians who want to gain entry into Germany to visit friends and relatives will have to provide a letter of invitation from their host. The home address and telephone number of the host should be included in the letter.
- While applying for this visa, applicants are to submit their passport which should have a validity of at least six months from the proposed date of travel. They are to submit copies of previous visas during the visa application process.
- Every applicant has to have a travel health insurance which covers them during duration of stay and should worth 30,000 euros.
- Applicants are to provide his travel itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit of applicant from Denmark.
- If employed, you are required to present a leave letter from your current employer which has to state your current position in the company and intended date of return.
- You will have to provide a personal cover letter should explaining the reason why you wish to visit Germany, how long you intend to remain there, and what you will be doing there, among others
- A proof of hotel reservation or accommodation if you intend to stay with a host, is one of the requirements while applying for a Germany tourist visa.
- An incentive to show you have the intentions of returning to your country at the expiration of your visa is to be submitted.
- Cameroonians with a tourist visa are not permitted to study or work while you are in the country.
- Travelers under this visa type are not allowed to take course in any of the institutions of learning in the country.
- Receipt of paid visa application fees should be provided during visa application.
- All travelers are mandated to leave Germany at the expiration of their visas.
- When you are in Germany, you are allowed to visit all the other members of the Schengen Zone: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
- Germany short-stay visa allows its holders to enter and reside in Germany for a maximum period of 90 days (3 months) within a 180 days period.
- If your trip is sponsored, your host has to sign a Declaration of Commitment “Verpflichtungserklärung”. By signing this formal obligation letter, a relative, friend or business, who is a legal resident or registered legal entity in Germany, pledges to the Federal authorities to cover your entire livelihood, medical and return costs related to your duration of stay.
- If you are an employee, your employer should issue a non-objection certificate to you which is required during your visa processing .
Germany Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Business-oriented travelers who have the intention of meeting with partners to discuss working relations between them can apply for a Germany business visa.
- Holders of this visa can attend conferences, meetings, business summits, and trade fairs while they are visiting Germany.
- Your business partner in Germany has to provide a letter of invitation with the address of the company, duration, and purpose of the meeting stated in it.
- The certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting up with is to be to presented among other documents during application process.
- Your employer in Cameroon should provide a letter stating they are aware of your business leave. The reason for your visit and how long you will be staying in the country should be indicated in the letter.
- Documents of any previous dealings with the company you are meeting with is to be submitted at the Embassy.
- Applicants without any approved health insurance that covers their duration of stay or its equivalent of 30,000 euros are denied entry into Germany.
- A proof of hotel reservation or accommodation that covers applicants duration of stay should be submitted.
- Cameroonian private business owners have to provide a copy of their Income Tax Return(ITR) form or certificate of income tax deducted from salary.
- Applicants are expected to provide a proof of civil status e.g Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse.
- No travelers are not permitted to enroll in any school for study purposes even for a short period under this visa.
- Foreigners who have applied for a Germany business visa are not allowed to take up any form of employment of any kind.
- Applicants are to provide documents which will prove their intention of returning back to their home country.
- At the expiration of your visa, it is expected that you leave Germany for Cameroon.
- Applicants are expected to provide a proof of civil status e.g Marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse.
Germany Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Cameroonians who apply for the medical visa are usually referred for advanced medical treatment in Germany.
- If you were referred from your local doctor with your medical diagnosis, you are to present a referral letter which indicates that to the Embassy.
- There should be a valid reason from your doctor why the illness cannot be treated in Cameroon before you can be granted approval to a Germany Medical visa.
- Holders of a medical visa can't take up permanent residence in the country.
- While in the country with this visa, you are not permitted to take up part-time or full-time courses in any of the schools.
- Those who have obtained a Germany Medical visa cannot engage in any work or employment.
- Minors traveling without their parents should ensure they have a letter of consent signed by both their parents. The original copy of their birth certificate should also be provided.
- Receipts or payslips which confirms the payment of your medical fees should be provided during the application process.
- Applicants whose medical bills will be taken care of by an organization should ensure they have proof of this. This may be in the form of a letter written by the organization.
- Cameroonians with a Medical visa are expected to leave Germany as soon as their visa expires.
Germany Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Cameroonians can take up paid employment temporarily in Germany with a work visa.
- Highly qualified foreigners, in particular:researchers with special technical knowledge teaching personnel in prominent positions or scientific personnel in prominent positions are also qualified to apply for this visa type.
- Your driver’s license and/or utility bill in your name as proof of residence in the territory of the consulate is required during the application process.
- You are expected to write a personal cover letter explaining your exact purpose and duration of stay in Germany.
- Applicants of this visa must have gained employment in a German Company before they start the visa application process.
- You are to present a letter from your employer in the country confirming that you have been offered a job.The location of the company, as well as your job description, should be clearly stated in the letter.
- The future employer will have to provide a proof that there was no German available to take a job before you were offered this job.
- An approval granted by the Federal Employment Agency is to be presented at the Embassy or consulate.
- Diplomas, Certificates, Mark-sheets etc., or anything similar that proves your qualifications for the job offered.
- Non- Cameroonian citizens who are applying for a work visa have to present a copy of their Cameroon stay permit.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee should be provided.
- A document which serves an evidence of your intention of returning to Cameroon is to be provided.
- An employment contract / binding job offer with details of gross annual salary and a detailed description of the employment in Germany is to be provided.
Germany Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- A transit visa permits foreigners who wish to make short stays in the country.
- Those applying for this visa intend to transit through Germany to their destination country.
- You are to provide a visa and flight ticket of your destination country during the visa application process at the embassy.
- Minors are to provide a unabridged original copy of your birth certificate. A letter of consent signed by both parents is also be provided too.
- You must have a clean criminal record before you can gain entry into Germany.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- Applicants are not allowed to study or work during your time in the country.
- The validity of a transit visa is for 5 days.
- You are required to exit the country before the expiry of your visa.
- There is no extension to the transit visa.
Germany Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The student visa is for foreigners who have gained admitted to study in one of the higher institution in the Germany.
- Applicants of this visa are also expecting to get a response on his/her University Application in a University in Germany,
- Eligible candidates are those who have enrolled in a Foundation Course before applying in a German University or needs to take a Foundation Course (Studienkolleg) to prepare for the test “Feststellungsprüfung” – qualification assessment examination.
- If you wist to complete your Doctoral Degree, you can apply for this type of visa.
- Those who want to engage in a research project in Germany are required to obtain a German student visa.
- Before this visa will be granted to you, a letter of admission from the school you have been enrolled in must be provided
- Past certificates and transcripts of the schools you previously attended are necessary documents to be provided during the visa application process.
- If you are not a citizen of Cameroon, a copy of your stay permit in Cameroon is required.
- Your proficiency in German language or that you intend to take up a language course in Germany has to be proven.
- Holders of this visa can work while studying as long as it does not affect their study and time they put into studying.
- The visa can be extended to the duration of your stay while you are studying in Germany.
- If you are a minor traveling without your parent, a letter of consent signed both your parents should be provided.
- In case you will need to remain in Germany for more than 90 days, or 3 months you are expected tlo also get a Residence Permit early enough after the arrival in Germany.
