Austria Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The application of this visa is open to Congolese who wish to travel to Austria for business reasons only.
  • This visa allows its holder to attend business meetings and sign business contracts.
  • Congolese can also attend conferences, seminars, job interviews and professional examinations with this visa.
  • For business invitations, a representative of the host company in Austria has to file an application with the local authority responsible for visas and residence permits for Austria.
  • Documentation affirming the purpose and duration of the trip is required. It could be an offer letter of employment.
  • Applicants are required to provide a letter of invitation from the company in Austria they will be meeting with.
  • A letter from the applicant's employer in Congo is to be provided stating the duration and purpose of their visit.
  • The applicant is to also provide an incentive that they will be returning to Congo at the expiration of their visa.
  • You are not allowed to take up paid employment during your stay in Congo.

Austria Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Austrian tourist visa is for applicants who wish to visit Austria for tourist-related reasons.
  • This visa is also for persons who wish to visit their relatives and friends.
  • Your passport must be valid for a period of at least 3 months beyond the applicant's stay in Austria. 
  • The visa must have at least 2 blank pages for the visa stamp.
  • A valid Congolese resident permit for at least 3 months beyond the applicant's exit from Austria.
  • Applicant's visiting friends or relatives will need an invitation letter from their host in Austria.
  • Documentation affirming the purpose and duration of the trip is required. 
  • Proof of family ties that show that the applicant has an incentive to return to Congo should be submitted for this visa application.
  • The applicant will be asked to submit a full round trip reservation to avoid overstaying in Austria.
  • Proof of accommodation in Austria is also necessary. 
  • This could be in the form of a hotel reservation or an affirmation that the applicant will be accommodated by their host in Austria.
  • The host's address and contact details are to be submitted. 
  • Applicants must show proof that they have enough funds to last them the entire duration of stay. 
  • The applicant is expected to provide an up-to-date bank state for the last 3 months.
  • Travel insurance with a minimum coverage of €30,000 is required.
  • The applicant is to leave Austria before the expiration of their visa.

  • This visa is for Congolese applicants who need to transit through an Austrian airport to reach a non-Schengen destination country.
  • The applicant will need to present a valid visa and flight ticket for their final destination country while applying for this visa.
  • Minors are required to submit an unabridged original copy of their birth certificate and a signed letter of consent from their parents. 
  • Receipt of paid visa application fees is to be submitted by the applicant.
  • Transit visa holders are not to leave the airport transit area.
  • Transit visa holders are not allowed to study or take up any kind of employment during their time in the country.
  • The visa is valid for 24 hours.
  • Visa holders must exit the country before the expiration of this visa.
  • This visa can not be extended.
  • This visa costs €60 and is processed between 15 and 30 days.

Austria Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Austrian visitor's visa is for Congolese citizens who will be staying in Austria for over 90 days.
  • This visa allows its holder to stay up to 6 months in Austria. 
  • This visa is also referred to as the National visa.
  • If the applicant intends to stay longer than 6 months, they will need to apply for a residence permit while applying for this visa.
  • The Austrian National visa cannot be extended.
  • Persons who wish to enroll in long term work, study or research while in Austria are open to this visa.
  • Documents supporting the purpose of the applicant's trip must be submitted for the visa application. 
  • This document could be in the form of a letter of employment from an Austrian organization or a letter of admission from a learning institution in Austria.
  • With this visa, you can visit other Schengen countries for up to 90 days.
