Application requirements

Documents Congolese applicants need to provide.

  • Completely filled and signed visa application form for Egypt.
  • Passport photo not older than 6 months.
  • Original passport or travel documents.
  • The passport must have at least 6 months validity from the date of travel.
  • The visa must have at least 2 visa pages clear of any markings for visa stamp.
  • Travel itinerary (travel reservation to and from Egypt in the applicant's name).
  • Flight reservations to Egypt and return ticket.
  • A letter from your employer.
  • Current bank statement for the last 6 months.

Visa type details

Business visa

  • This visa type is for Congolese visa applicant's who wish to go to Egypt for business, seminars, conferences and to sign negotiations.
  • You can also meet with business partners and attend meetings while in Egypt.
  • This visa lasts for 30 days and you are expected to leave Egypt on or before the expiration of this visa.
  • Your passport must not be frayed, torn, separated, or altered in any other way.
  • You must provide a two-colored passport-type photograph that must have been taken within the last three months and printed on high-quality photo paper.
  • The photographs must be taken against an all-white background and must be two inches by two (2x2) inches providing the full frontal view of your head with your face centered in the middle and displaying a neutral (non-smiling) expression.
  • You may wear neither eyeglasses nor headwear except for religious purposes.
  • Your photos must not be affixed to your application and it may not display evidence of adhesive tape or staples.
  • You are to submit a business cover letter from your Egyptian based company.
  • All letters are to be printed on the company's letterhead and must display an Egyptian address.
  • Include two copies of an itinerary or e-ticket that displays your round trip travel and entry and exit dates to and from Egypt and must show your full name (as printed in your passport).
  • You are to also submit a letter written by your employer in Congo on company letterhead stating that you will be returning to your present job.
  • The cover letter should state their awareness of your leave, purpose, and duration of stay.
  • You are to submit an official invitation letter from the Egyptian company you are meeting stating the purpose and duration of your visit to Egypt.
  • Proof of financial sufficiency that covers the applicant's duration of stay should be submitted.
  • If your finances will be taken care of by your employer or the partner company, it should be clearly stated in the letter of invitation.
  • Proof of previous business dealings between the Congolese company and the Egyptian company should be submitted.
  • Proof of registration and receipt of paid fees for the registration of the conference should be made available for those who intend to attend conferences in Egypt.
  • A certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting in Egypt should be provided.
  • Applicants who own their own businesses should provide a copy of their income tax return for the last six months.
  • Receipt of payment of visa application fees is to be submitted also.
  • International Certificate of Vaccination of Yellow Fever should be provided by the applicant.
  • Applicants are advised not to make the non-refundable expenses until their visa application is granted.
  • You are to leave Egypt at the expiration of your visa.

Tourist visa

  • This visa type is for persons who want to travel to Egypt for tourism, sightseeing, leisure and family and friends visitation.
  • If you will be visiting someone in Egypt, a letter of invitation from your host in Egypt is to be submitted.
  • The letter should contain information which includes the host’s home address, telephone number, and a valid means of identification.
  • Foreigners on this visa cannot take up any form of employment and are not to receive payment for any service rendered while in the country.
  • You are also not to seek public funds throughout your stay in Egypt.
  • You can not attend seminars, conferences or take up an internship in Egypt with this visa type.
  • The processing time for this visa is 7 working days.
  • Employed applicants are to present a letter from their employer which states their position in the company, the duration of their employment, as well as the duration of their leave.
  • Retired persons should possess a pension statement or documents showing other financial support from the last 6 months.
  • For non-Congolese applicants of this visa, a copy of their residence permit in Congo is to be submitted.
  • Minors traveling without their parents or with one of their parents are required to have a copy of a letter of consent signed by both parents.
  • The original copy of their birth certificate is to be also submitted.
  • You are to present a document that shows that you have the incentive of returning to Congo at the expiration of your visa.
  • You are advised to be immunized against Malaria, Typhoid, and Hepatitis A and B and tender a certificate of vaccination to the consulate.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is also to be submitted.
  • You are also to provide proof of hotel reservation or accommodation.
  • You should also submit your travel itinerary.
  • Travel insurance that covers your entire duration of stay in Egypt is also to be submitted.

Transit visa

  • This visa is for Congolese visa applicant's who wish to transit through Egypt to another country.
  • This visa is valid for up to 12 hours.
  • Flight tickets and visas for the next and final destination are to be provided.
  • You are to leave Egypt on or before the expiration of this visa.
  • You are not permitted to work or study while you are in Egypt.
  • You are not to leave the airport transit area in the airport under any circumstance.
  • You are to provide proof of payment of the visa application fee.
  • Minors who are holders of this visa type are to submit an original copy of their birth certificate.
  • This visa can not be extended.
