India is home to over a billion people, the best cuisine and the tallest mountain range in the world. 

  • According to the visa policy in India, citizens of Costa Rica can visit the country for a period of 90 days by applying for an Electronic visa(e-visa).
  • Travellers are advised to apply for the e-visa, at least four days before departure. Also, the e-visa costs about USD 80.
  • Intending visitors are required to possess a valid passport of a minimum of 6 months beyond the date of India. The passport should have at least two blank pages for visa stamping.
  • The import and export of India’s local currency are pegged at INR 25,000.
  • Also, the import and export of foreign currencies are unlimited, however, amounts exceeding $ 5,000 or its equivalent would be declared.
  • Costa Ricans must show evidence of a confirmed means of accommodation for their entire stay in India. This could be in the form of a sponsor letter from a host living in the country or a hotel reservation.
  • Costa Rica nationals entering India with firearms require an Import Permit from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation in India.
