Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting Belgium

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Belgian Visa.


  • The Belgium visa application form should be completely filled, printed and signed by applicants.
  • DR Congo passport that is valid for at least 3 months beyond the date of exit from Belgium.
  • The passport must have at least two blank pages to affix a Belgium visa.
  • Photocopies of applicant’s previous visa is required.
  • Two identical passport photograph taken against a white background and must display a neutral expression.
  • All required documents should be provided or translated into English, French, German and Dutch.
  • Medical insurance with a minimum of 30,000 euros that covers medical emergencies and repatriation in case of death.
  • A cover letter from the host that explains the purpose of the trip to Belgium.
  • Flight itinerary contacting dates and flight numbers indicating entry and exit from Belgium.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservation for the whole duration of the intended stay in Belgium.
  • Bank statements showing proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Belgium.
  • The bank statement must show that the applicant can afford 95 euros per day in Belgium.
  • Minors are required to submit a birth certificate and notarized consent note signed by both parents.
  • Minors should also provide certified copies of parent’s ID or passport of both parents
