Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting China

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Chinese Visa.


  • Original DR Congo passport valid for 6 months after an intended stay in Italy.
  • The original passport must have more than two blank visa pages for visa stamp.
  • The visa application form must be signed and completely filled by the applicant.
  • Proof of legal stay or residence (applicable to applicants who are not applying for visas in the country of nationality). 
  • Minors under the age of 18 are required to submit a birth certificate and a travel statement of minors to China by one party (requires both parties to sign).
  • The original and photocopy of the ID card of both parents (the divorce certificate of the named guardian who should provide the notarization of the divorce of the parents).
  • One recently taken passport photo showing a full face, front view, bare-head, and against a light background (size: 48 x 33 mm).
  • Travel itinerary showing details of the applicant’s planned trip to China, arrival and departure dates, place(s) to be visited, and accommodation arrangements.
  • A copy of the confirmed return ticket to DR Congo is required. 
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in China is to be submitted. 
  • An invitation letter from the host in China containing the information of the applicant such as name, gender, and date of birth.
  • Information of the host in china such as name(s), contact number, address, and relationship to the applicant.

China, officially the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia and the world's most populous country, with a population of around 1.404 billion in 2017. Since 2010, China has been the country with the world’s second-largest economy by nominal GDP and the largest economy in the world by purchasing power parity in 2014.


China is also the world’s largest exporter and second-largest importer of goods and also the home to some of the world’s largest tech giants such as Huawei, Baidu, Tencent and Alibaba as it is the world’s most technologically advanced nation. Since 2019, China has the highest number of rich people in the world.
