Application requirements
Documents Congolese applicants need to provide.
- Germany's visa application form is completely filled and signed by the applicant.
- Two attached photos passport format which must be recent and of a white background.
- Copies of your passport and previous visas are required.
- A copy of your return ticket reservation(it is not recommended to purchase your ticket before your visa purchase).
- Travel medical visa insurance with a minimum of 30,000 EURO coverage within Germany.
- A cover letter from the host in Germany is required.
- A copy of your return tickets reservation dates and flight number, specifying your entry and exit from Germany.
- Proof of accommodation for the whole duration of the trip. This could be either a hotel reservation or a friend or family's house address.
- Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Germany, this could be your bank account statement.
- Income Tax Return (ITR) form or certificate of income tax deducted at the source of salary.
Visa type details
Tourist visa
- Completed Germany tourist visa application form should be fully completed and signed by the applicant.
- Two passport-sized photos, not older than three months.
- DR Congo valid passport valid for a minimum of 3 months after the end of your planned stay in Germany.
- The passport must have at least two blank pages in order to be able to put the visa sticker on it.
- If you have ever traveled to Germany before, copies of the previous visas.
- Certificate of a criminal record of the home country showing that you have no criminal record.
- Travel Itinerary that shows what you will be doing in Germany, when you will arrive and when you will leave, and includes proof of arranged transportation including plane ticket booking and hotel booking.
- Letter of invitation from the host in Germany stating the relationship with the applicant and the duration of stay.
- Proof of Accommodation in Germany, either from a hotel, or a letter of invitation if you are planning to stay over at friends or relatives.
- Proof of sufficient funds while in Germany is required.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- Applicants are not allowed to work or study during your stay in the country.
Business visa
- A business visa is issued to foreigners visiting for strictly business purposes such as attending business meetings or conferences, signing and negotiating contracts with other business partners in Germany.
- If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided
- A business bank statement of the latest 6 months should be provided.
- Letter of invitation from the host in Germany introducing the applicant must state the type of business to be conducted and the duration of stay in Germany is required.
- A business cover letter from DR Congo stating the awareness of a business trip to Germany is required.
- The letter must indicate the position of applicant held in the company and clearly state that the applicant will be returning to the present job in DR Congo.
- Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in Germany, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation and must be accompanied by a bank statement of the sponsor, no older than three months.
- Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
- If the applicant is self-employed, proof of business certification such as the business license and the company's certified bank account statements for the last three months should be provided.
