Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting Netherlands

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Dutch Visa.


  • An original DR Congo passport that is valid for at least 6 months beyond the required stay in the Netherlands.
  • Passport must have 2 blank pages for the Netherlands visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed the Netherlands visa application form.
  • The parents or legal guardians have to sign the form if the applicant is a minor.
  • Three passport photographs taken on a white background should be attached to the application form.
  • A valid bank statement showing proof of financial capability is required.
  • Applicants should provide proof of accommodation/hotel reservations in the Netherlands.
  • An original copy of the return flight ticket should be submitted.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to DR Congo such as national ID cards or photocopies of original property certificate should be provided by the applicant.
  • An original police report showing that the applicant does not have any criminal record or has not engaged in any criminal activities in DR Congo.
  • Copy of confirmed travel itinerary showing travel details, entry, and exit date from the Netherlands.
  • Medical insurance showing that the applicant has no contagious disease should cover the duration of stay in the Netherlands.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of the paid visa application fee.
  • Applicants must not overstay visa duration in the Netherlands.
  • Always apply for your tourist visa at least 21 days before your departure date to allow for ample processing time.
