Basic Travel Requirements for Congoleses visiting Spain

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Spanish Visa.

  • A completely filled and signed Spanish visa application form.
  • 32 X 26 mm passport photograph, with a uniform white and smooth background, taken from the front and without glasses of dark crystals.
  • DR Congo passport valid for at least 3 months beyond return date and copies of previous visas is required.
  • The passport must have at least two blank pages for the visa stamp.
  • A copy of the applicant's return-ticket reservation is required.
  • It is not recommended to purchase the ticket before obtaining the visa.
  • Spain's travel/medical insurance of a minimum amount of €30,000 coverage within Spain for emergency cases is required.
  • A cover letter stating the purpose of visit to Spain and itinerary.  
  • A copy of the confirmed travel itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Spain.
  • Hotel booking reservations for the whole duration of the intended stay in Spain. 
  • Proof of civil status in DR Congo such as marriage certificate or birth certificate of children.
  • Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Spain.

Spain Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicants with a tourist visa can visit friends and relatives, go for vacation, relaxation, and tourism purposes.
  • Spain visa application form should be duly completed and signed by the applicant.\
  • The Democratic Republic of Congo passport should be valid for 90 days from the date of exit.
  • The passport must have 2 empty pages for the Spain visa stamp.
  • One recent passport photograph taking with a white background.
  •  Veils or head covering are only permitted for religious reasons; in this case, all facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly shown.
  • DR Congo residence permit should be valid for 90 days from the expiration date of the visa. This is only applicable to applicants that are not citizens of DR Congo.
  • Applicants under the age of 18 are required to submit notarized authorization of the parents or of the parent who does not travel with the minor.
  • The original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • It is an offense to take up a paid job or engage in any business activities with a tourist visa.
  • Valid medical insurance for the duration of stay in Spain.
  • Applicants are expected to leave the country at the expiration of the visa.
  • Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable fee of €60 for the tourist visa.
  • Invitation letter from a family member or friend or tour organization in Spain containing contact information such as the address and phone number of the host.
  • The invitation letter should indicate the nature of events or activities, the purpose of visit, and expense coverage.
  • Applicants are required to provide a copy of the bank statement for the last 6 months.
  • Travel itinerary showing the entry and exit date from Spain.

Spain Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • A business visa is issued to people who want to perform business activities such as attending business conferences, getting invoulved in trade fairs, negotiating and signing contracts with other business partners in Spain.
  • The maximum period the holder of this period can stay in Spain is 90 days.
  • Applicants are required to have valid medical insurance for the whole duration of stay in Spain.
  • If the applicant is self-employed, a copy of the business license, company bank statement of the latest 6 months and Income Tax Return (ITR)
  • Letter of invitation from the company in Spain written in Spanish stating clearly the business relation with the applicant, purpose of the trip and duration of the stay in Spain.
  • The Invitation letter from the Spanish company should clearly state their detailed address accompanied by the dates of the visit is required.
  • A business letter from the applicant's employer in DR Congo ststing that the employer is aware of the applicant's business leave and indicating that the applicant is of good moral.
  • A certificate from the applicant's employer stating/allowing the business travel/leave is required.
  • If there were previous trade relations between the two companies, proof of such events must be provided
  • The business bank statement of the latest 6 months is to be submitted by the applicant.
  • Regarding the applicant’s expenses during stay in Spain, either the employer or the partner company must state coverage of expenses on the letter or invitation.
