  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.

Tourist visa
  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting Bhutan for the purpose of leisure and tourism.
  • Foreigners are in the country to visit their friends and relatives are also eligible to apply for this visa.
  • All applicant’s visiting their friends or relatives are required to provide a letter of invitation from their host. The letter must state valid contact information of the host.
  • Tourists are allowed to participate in festivals and events while they are in the country.
  • Applicants who are employed should provide a letter from their employer. The letter should be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state the duration and purpose of the applicant’s visit.
  • Minors should present the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling with one or none of their parents, a letter of consent signed by both the minor’s parents should be provided.
  • A copy of the International Certificate of Vaccination against yellow fever should be submitted during the visa application.
  • Applicants of this visa type are advised to receive vaccines and treatment for malaria.
  • During your time in the country, you are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment.

  • This visa is issued to foreigners traveling to Bhutan for business purposes.
  • During your time in the country, you are free to negotiate and sign business contracts with your partners.
  • Holders of this visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
  • A letter from the Bhutan based company the applicant will be meeting with guaranteeing stay and stating the reason for the visit should be provided.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer in Egypt is required. The letter must state confirmation of leave and must also state the job position and salary level of the applicant.
  • Proof of previous business dealings between the applicant’s company and the inviting company should be provided, if any.
  • You are required to present an International Certificate against yellow fever during the visa application process.
  • Foreign nationals are not allowed to be gainfully employed while they are in the country.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.
