Application requirements
Documents Egyptian applicants need to provide.
- Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
- Correctly completed visa application form duly signed by the applicant.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.

Tourist visa
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of visiting Bulgaria for sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation purposes.
- Egyptians traveling to Bulgaria to visit their friends or relatives are eligible to apply for this visa type.
- If your purpose of going to Bulgaria is to visit a family or relative, an invitation letter from your host is required. The letter must state the relationship between the applicant and the host and must be accompanied by the valid contact information of the host.
- Tourists in Bulgaria are not prohibited from attending festivals and events that are of interest to them.
- Applicants who are employed should ensure they present a letter from their employer. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state the applicant’s job position, salary level, and length of employment.
- If the applicant is under the age of 18 years, the original copy of the applicant’s birth certificate should be provided.
- Foreigners in the country on this visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment.
- Holders of this visa are not permitted to be enrolled in any of the academic institutions in the country.
- A document which shows that the applicant of this visa has the incentive of returning to his/her country should be provided.

Medical visa
- This visa is issued to foreign nationals who have the intention of seeking and receiving medical treatment that cannot be gotten in their country.
- Applicants of this visa can be accompanied by his/her family members.
- A medical certificate from the applicant’s doctor in Egypt is required. The letter must state the nature of the applicant’s illness and the reason the treatment will be best gotten in Bulgaria.
- A letter from the receiving medical doctor or medical institution in Bulgaria is required. The letter should state the nature of the applicant’s illness and confirm that the institution can perform the specific medical treatment needed by the applicant.
- Any other correspondence between the applicant’s doctor and the receiving medical institution should be provided.
- If the applicant of this visa is under the age of 18 years, the unabridged original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
- If the applicant is traveling with one or none of his/her parents, a notarized consent signed by both parents of the applicant should be provided.

- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of enrolling in any of the academic institutions in Bulgaria.

- A letter of admission from the institution the applicant has been accepted to study is required. The letter must be printed on the company’s letterhead and must state the course to be studied and the duration of the study programme.
- Students in Bulgaria are allowed to work for a period of 20-hours when school is in session and full-time when school is on break.
- If the applicant is a minor, the applicant must provide the original copy of his/her birth certificate.
- Applicants are required to submit certificates and transcripts they obtained from the schools they previously attended.
