Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Colombian Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of at least 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Correctly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.

  • This visa allows foreign nationals to visit their friends and relatives residing in the country.
  • If your purpose of traveling to Colombia is to visit your friend or relative in the country, you are required to present a letter of invitation from your host. The letter should be accompanied by a valid means of identification of the host.

  • If the applicant is a minor, the unabridged original copy of the minor’s birth certificate must be provided. A letter of consent must also be provided if the applicant is traveling with one or none of his/her parents.

  • This visa is issued to business travelers visiting Colombia with the intention of carrying out business activities.
  • Foreigners who have the intention of engaging in market studies, direct investment plans or procedures of a commercial company are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • This visa allows foreign business travelers to negotiate and sign business contracts during business meetings with their partners.
  • Holders of this visa can attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
  • This visa allows a maximum stay of 180 continuous days in Colombia.
  • An official letter of invitation from your partner company in Colombia is required. The letter must be printed on the company letterhead and must state the duration and purpose of the visit.
  • The letter must state who will be responsible for the applicant’s finances during the applicant’s time in the country.
  • If the applicant is employed, a letter from the applicant’s employer is required. The letter should state awareness and allowance of the business leave.
  • Foreigners cannot receive payments for the services you render while you are in the country.

  • This visa is issued to foreigners who have been hired to fill a position in a Colombian company.
  • Before applying for this visa, ensure that you have been employed by a company in Colombia.
  • An employment contract signed by both the employer and the employee is required. The letter must state the job description of the applicant and the terms of employment.
  • Proof that there was no Colombian willing to take up the job that you were offered at the time the job was offered to you.
  • This visa is valid for 3 years. When the duration of the employment contract is less than three years, the validity of the visa is reduced.
  • Bank statements of the employer for the last 6 months prior to the visa application is required.
  • Proof that the applicant of this visa will not be paid below the minimum wage paid to other Colombian nationals is required.
  • International Vaccination against yellow fever should be provided.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.

Colombia Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals with the intention of visiting Colombia to seek and receive medical treatment.
  • Foreigners who want to accompany people who need medical treatment in the country can also apply for this visa.
  • A certificate from the applicant’s local physician in Egypt stating the nature of the applicant’s illness and the reason the treatment will be best gotten in Colombia is required.
  • A certificate issued by the health care institution in Colombia which is willing to accept and treat the specific medical treatment needed by the applicant should be provided.
  • Any other correspondence between the applicant’s local doctor and the medical institution in Colombia is required.
  • Proof that the applicant can pay for the medical fees and any extra costs that may arise is required.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate should be provided. It should be accompanied by a notarized consent signed by both parents of the minor.
  • Holders of this visa cannot be paid for the services they render while they are in the country.
  • Receipt of the non-refundable visa application fee is required.

Colombia Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners who have been enrolled in any of the academic institutions in the country are eligible to apply for this visa.
  • A letter of acceptance from the institution that the applicant has been accepted into is required. The letter should indicate the course of study and the duration of the study programme.
  • Applicants must provide the certificates and transcripts obtained for the schools they previously attended.
  • Foreign students are allowed to work part-time when school is on break and full-time when school is in session.
  • If the applicant is under the age of 18 years, the original copy of the minor’s birth certificate is required.
  • This visa type can be extended to cover the duration of the applicant’s study programme.
  • Non-citizens of Egypt should ensure they provide a copy of their residence permit.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee is required.

  • This visa is issued with the intention of transiting through Colombia to their destination country.
  • Applicants of this visa have the intention of joining a connecting flight from an airport in Colombia to their destination country.
  • Flight ticket of the destination country must be provided.
  • The applicant of this visa must be in possession of the visa and other entry permits of their destination country.
  • The visa holder can remain in Colombia for a maximum period of 24 hours.
  • This visa allows its holders multiple entries to the country for a period of thirty days.
