Basic Travel Requirements for Egyptians visiting Eritrea

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Eritrean Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.

Eritrea Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners traveling to Eritrea for the purpose of sightseeing, recreation, and relaxation.
  • The Tourist Visa allows foreign nationals to visit their friends or relatives who hold permanent residence in the country.
  • An official letter of invitation from your host in the country should be provided. The letter must state the relationship between the applicant and the host and the duration of the applicant’s visit.
  • Holders of this visa are not prohibited from attending events and festivals taking place in the country.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer printed from the company’s letterhead is required. The letter must state the job position, salary level, and length of the applicant’s employment.
  • Minors applying for this visa are required to be in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate.
  • This visa does not allow you to receive payments for the services you render while you are in the country.

  • Holders of this visa can sign and negotiate business contracts with their partners during business meetings.
  • Foreigners in the country on this visa are allowed to attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars relating to their profession.
  • An official letter of employment from the inviting company in Eritrea is required. The letter should state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the business visit.
  • The business letter must state who will bear the cost of the applicant’s expenses in the country.
  • Applicants of this visa are required to present a certificate of employment from their employer in Egypt.
  • If there have been previous trade relations between the applicant’s company and the host company, proof of this is required.
  • Documents which show that you have the incentive of returning to your home country is required.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be provided.
