Basic Travel Requirements for Egyptians visiting Malta

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Maltese Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of a steady and continuous flow of funds.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of civil status.

Malta Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreign nationals who have the intention of visiting Malta for the purpose of leisure and tourism.
  • Applicants who have been invited to the country by their friends and relatives can apply for this visa.
  • If you have been invited to Malta, a letter of invitation of invitation from your host is required. The letter should introduce the applicant and contain the valid contact details of the applicant.
  • Foreigners in Malta on the Tourist Visa are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment or study.

  • Non-Egyptians should provide a copy of police conduct certificate from their country.
  • If the documents to be submitted are in Arabic, it should be translated to either English or Maltese.

Malta Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners applying for this visa type do so with the intention of engaging in business activities in Malta.
  • Business travelers can negotiate and sign business contracts with their partner companies in the country.
  • Businessmen and businesswomen are free to attend trade fairs, seminars, and conferences relating to their profession.
  • An official letter of invitation from the Maltese company is required. The letter should state the valid contact information of the company, nature of the business to be conducted, and the duration of the trip.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Egypt should be provided. The letter should state the applicant’s job position, salary level, and the duration of the business trip.
  • The business letter should state whether the host company or the sponsoring company will be responsible for the applicant’s finances in the country.
  • If there have been previous business dealings between the two companies, proof of this is required.
  • Foreigners are not permitted to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
  • Documents in Arabic must be translated to either English or Maltese.

Malta Medical Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa is issued to foreigners visiting Malta to seek and receive medical treatment that cannot be gotten in their home country.
  • A letter from the applicant’s doctor in their home country should be provided. The letter should state the applicant’s ailment and the reason the treatment is best gotten in Malta.
  • A letter from the Maltese doctor confirming the appointment with the applicant is required. The letter should state the nature of the ailment and the duration of the treatment.
  • Any other correspondence between the medical institutions in Malta and Egypt should be provided.
  • Evidence of the applicant’s ability to meet costs of medical treatment and any other extra cost is required.
  • Minors should present the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling with one or none of their parents, a notarized consent signed by both the parents is required.
  • Holders of this visa cannot be gainfully employed during their time in the country.
  • If the documents to be submitted are in Arabic, they should be translated into English or Maltese.
  • You are expected to exit the country on or before the visa expires.

Malta Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Eligible applicants of the Student Visa are those who have been accepted into an institution of learning to take up a course of study.
  • An admission letter printed on the institution’s letterhead and signed by the head of the institution should be provided. The letter must state the course the applicant will be offering and the duration of the study programme.
  • Certificates and transcripts gotten from schools attended by the applicant should be submitted during the visa application process.
  • If you are under the age of 18 years, the original copy of your birth certificate carrying both names of the parent should be provided. If you will be traveling without either of your parents, a letter of consent signed by both parents is required.
  • Students can work part-time when school is on break and full-time when the school is in session.
  • A copy of the applicant’s Egyptian residence permit is required.
  • A police report from the applicant’s home country showing that the applicant has a clean criminal record should be provided.
  • The documents to be submitted should be in English or Maltese.

Malta Transit Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Transit Visa is issued to Egyptians with the intention of joining a connecting flight from Malta to their home country.
  • Holders of non-Egyptian passports have to possess a valid Egyptian residence permit or should otherwise seek permission to apply from the Central Unit in Malta.
  • Applicants of this visa are expected to be in possession of the visa and other entry permits of their destination country.
  • Flight tickets of the destination country should also be provided.
  • Minors applying for this visa type should ensure they are in possession of the unabridged original copy of their birth certificate.
  • Holders of this visa are prohibited from taking up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
  • Receipt of paid visa application fee is required.
  • You are expected to leave the country on or before this visa expires.
