Documents Egyptian applicants need to provide.
- Passport with a validity of more than six months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have two blank pages for necessary stamps.
- Visa application form completed and signed by the applicant.
- Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
- Original copy of bank statement from the past six months prior to the period of visa application. This shows that the applicant can cater for himself/herself during his/her stay in the country.
- Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
- Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
- Copy of return flight ticket.
- Travel itinerary.

Tourist visa
- The Tourist Visa is issued to Egyptians visiting Portugal for the purpose of sightseeing, relaxation, and recreation.
- Foreigners applying for this visa have may have been invited by their friends or relatives residing in Portugal.
- If you are traveling to Portugal to visit a friend or relative, you are required to provide a letter of invitation from your host. The letter should state the relationship between the applicant and the host and should include the valid contact information of the host.
- Tourists in Portugal are not allowed to take up paid or unpaid employment during their time in the country.
- A letter from the applicant’s employer stating the applicant’s job position, salary level, and the duration of the trip.
- During your time in Portugal, you can attend events and festivals of your choice.
- Applicants who are under the age of 18 are required to possess the original copy of their birth certificate. If they are traveling with one or none of their parents, a notarized consent signed by both their parents is required.
- Proof of payment of paid visa application fee should be provided.
- Foreigners in Portugal are expected to return to their home country at the expiry of this visa.
- If the document provided is in Arabic, it should be translated into English or Portuguese. There is no need to translate the document if it is originally issued in English.
Business visa
- This visa is issued to business travelers who are traveling to Portugal to engage in business activities.
- Businessmen and businesswomen can negotiate and sign business contracts with their business partners in the country.
- During your time in the country, you are allowed to attend business summits, trade fairs, and conferences.
- A letter of invitation from the company the applicant will be meeting up with in Portugal should be provided. The business letter should state the nature of the business to be carried out in Portugal and the duration of the visit.
- Foreigners who are employed should provide a letter from their employer in Egypt. The letter should state the applicant’s job position, salary level, the duration, and purpose of the visit.
- The business letter should state whether the inviting company or the sponsoring company will be responsible for the applicant’s finances during his/her time in the country.
- Proof of previous trade relations should be provided, if any.
- You are required to leave the country on or before the visa expires.
- All documents to be presented during the visa application process should be in either English or Portuguese.
