Basic Travel Requirements for Egyptians visiting Solomon Islands

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Solomon Islander Visa.

  • Passport with a validity of more than 6 months from the intended period of exiting the country. The passport should have at least two blank pages for the necessary stamp.
  • Duly completed visa application form signed by the applicant.
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs with a white background. The photo should follow the specification for a visa application.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months prior to the period of visa application. This is proof of steady and continuous flow of funds.
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of your stay in the country.
  • Proof of accommodation for the period you will be staying in the country.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Travel itinerary.

The Solomon Islands is a sovereign state consisting of six major islands and over 900 smaller islands. The country is well known for its islands, beach resorts, and beautiful scenery. Scuba-diving destinations are accessible in almost all parts of the country. The gigantic Marovo Lagoon and Iron Bottom Sound are two of the more popular destinations for scuba-diving. At the bottom of these two destinations, dozens of sunken warships from World War II can be found. Other activities to be engaged in while in the country include; surfing waves, snorkeling pristine reefs or kayaking across the lagoon. The best part about visiting the Solomon Islands is that it is usually not overcrowded.
 
The number of visitors received by the Solomon Islands in the year 2017 was more than 21,000 which was a jump of more than 10% compared to the figure posted the previous year. A bulk of the visitors in the country were from Australia and they accounted for about 37% of the total arrival. It is expected that the number of visits to the country will further increase in the years to come.

Solomon Islands Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • This visa allows holders to visit the Solomon Islands for a short period of time as a tourist.
  • Persons traveling to the Solomon Islands to visit their friends or relatives residing in the country can also apply for this visa.
  • If you will be visiting someone in the country, a letter of invitation from your host is required. The letter must contain the home address and telephone number of your host.
  • You can only stay in the Solomon Islands for a minimum period of 6 weeks in a combined period of 90 days.
  • Holders of this visa are not allowed to engage in any business or take up paid employment without the approval of the Commissioner of Labor.
  • Tourists must not engage in any religious vocations without the approval of the Minister of Immigration.
  • Minors applying for this visa should ensure they are in possession of the original copy of their birth certificate while applying for this visa.
  • This visa can be extended to exceed the initial three months period for a further three months on special circumstances.

Solomon Islands Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • Foreigners who have the intention of engaging in business activities during their time in the country are the eligible applicants of this visa.
  • This visa allows business travelers to attend trade fairs, conferences, and business seminars during their time in the country.
  • During your time in the country, you are allowed to negotiate ad sign business contracts with your partners.
  • A letter of from the inviting company in Solomon Islands is required. The letter must state the nature of the business to be carried out and the duration of the visit.
  • The letter must also state who will be financially responsible for the applicant during his/her time in the country.
  • A letter from the applicant’s employer in Egypt should be provided. The letter must introduce the applicant and contain contact information of the company.
  • Holders of this visa can stay in the Solomon Islands for 6 weeks in a combined period of 90 days.
  • You are expected to leave the country on or before this visa expires.
