Brazil Visitor Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Brazilian visitors’ visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Brazil for tourism, sightseeing, vacation or other recreational activities.
  • This visa also allows its holder to visit friends or relatives residing in Brazil.
  • The visitor visa application form must be completed online then printed and signed. Applicants must complete mandatory sections before they can print the application form.
  • A passport-size photograph must be uploaded to the application page along with other supporting documents. The photo must be taken with a white background and meet all the Brazilian passport photo specifications.
  • An official letter from your employer stating awareness of leave and when you are to resume back to work is required.
  • If you are a student, you are to submit a letter from the school permitting you to be absent from school.
  • As proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Brazil, you must submit copies of your bank statements of the last 3 months.
  • You are also required to submit a copy of your hotel reservation in Brazil.
  • If you will be staying in a private residence with friends or relatives, you are to submit an invitation letter from your host. The letter must show the contact details (address and phone number) of your host.
  • To show that you plan to leave Brazil as soon as your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight reservation.

  • The Brazilian business visa is issued to foreign nationals who intend to travel to Brazil for business purposes.
  • The business visa application form must be completed online then printed and signed. It is important to complete mandatory sections before they can print the application form.
  • You are to upload your passport-size photograph to the application page along with other supporting documents. The photo must be taken against a white background and meet all the Brazilian passport photo specifications.
  • You must submit an official letter from your employer stating your name, your role in the company and the purpose of your travel to Brazil. The letter should also give a guarantee that your employer will be taking care of your business travel expenses.
  • To show that you intend to leave Brazil once your visa expires, you are required to submit a copy of your round-trip flight reservation.
  • As proof that you can cater to your financial needs for the entire duration of your stay in Brazil, you must present copies of your bank statements of the last 3 months.

  • The Brazilian transit visa is issued to foreign nationals who want to travel through Brazil to another country.
  • If you do not intend to leave the designated transit area within the airport in Brazil and have a combined airline ticket to your final destination in a third country, you do not need a Brazilian visa.
  • You do require a visa if you intend to go through immigration in Brazil and leave the designated transit area within the airport, or if you have purchased your airline tickets separately.

  • Foreign nationals who want to travel to Brazil to study, partake in an exchange or internship program must apply for a Brazilian student visa.
  • You must have received an admission offer from a Brazilian school before you can apply for a student visa as you will be required to present the original copy of your acceptance letter.
  • The acceptance letter must state your full name, the programme you have been enrolled to study and how long you are to study in Brazil.
  • You are required to show proof of financial sustenance to cover the entire duration of your stay in Brazil, including paying your tuition fees.
