Basic Travel Requirements for Eritreans visiting France
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a French Visa.
- An original Eritrean international passport with the validity of three months and at least two blank pages for stamps and must have been issued within the last 10 years.
- The visa application form duly filled accurately, signed and dated.
- Copies of identical passport-sized photographs which shows the full face of the visa applicant. The applicant’s face must not be covered with a veil or anything of such.
- Your original Bank statement from the last three months prior to the visa application. This bank statement must be obtained directly from the bank and not published via the internet.

France Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- The France tourist visa is granted to foreigners who are going into the country for tourism reasons.

France Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Eritrean students visiting France for academic purposes are the eligible applicants for this student visa.
- There are three types of French student visa, they are: Schengen student visa(short-stay), Visa to sit entrance exams, Temporary long-stay visa and long-stay visa.
- Schengen student visa is a short-stay visa issued to students whose studies are within three(3) months and will not be spending more than the 3 months.
- Visa to sit entrance exams is for students who want to sit one or more university exams.
- Temporary long-stay visa is a temporary student visa that lets you stay and study in France for up to six months.
- Long-stay visa is a visa for students whose course of study is more than six months, and it acts as a residence permit that lasts for the duration of your study.
- It is an important prerequisite for applicants to be in possession of a valid travel insurance. Failure to have this document may result in visa refusal.
- You are expected to provide proof of minimum resources which amount to about €615 monthly, including the amount of the gratuity.
- Foreigners are to provide an official acceptance letter onto an accredited program you are going to study in any of the French institutions.
- Your letter must entail your details, details of your program of study and the start and end dates of study. All the information must be provided in an official letterhead paper of the institution you are attending in France.
- The tax required for validation costs €58.

- This visa type must be validated by the Office Francaise de l’Immigration et de l’Integration (OFII). This is done by sending a form to the OFII received along with the visa with the address of residence in France.
- To successfully validate this visa, you are required to undergo a medical examination and also attend an introductory meeting.
