Basic Travel Requirements for Eritreans visiting Ireland

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Irish Visa.

  • A valid Eritrean International Passport with at least 6months validity with two or more blank pages for visa sticker on your passport.
  • Two(2) current photograph-sized photos with white background.
  • The photocopy of your passport full pages, like 1-32 pages must be produced.
  • Travel medical insurance with a minimum coverage of 30,000.00 Euro. 
  • Bank account statement for the last 6months duly endorsed by the Bank.
  • Police clearance certificate.
  • Proof of hotel reservation you want to stay in Ireland or private accommodation from your person in Ireland. 
  • Photocopies of all previous visas in your passport.
  • Evidence of flight bookings, indicating the airline, departure and arrival dates.
  • Written statement for visiting.
  • An under-age person travelling alone or accompanied by a guardian must present:
  • Original birth certificate.
  • Consent letter from both parents.
  • Attach the parent's identity card photocopy or data page of their passports.
  • The visa application form must be signed by the guardian.

Ireland Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Irish tourist visa is for tourists who are visiting the Republic of Ireland for tourism purposes.
  • The visa, being a short-stay visa is also classified as Type-C issued for tourism and study.
  • Your visa duration of stay is 90 days applicable to both study and tourism.
  • You are not allowed to work when you are traveling with this visa, neither you are not liable to any public-funded services in Ireland.
  • The visa does not permit you to travel to any other country(Schengen countries) except Ireland.
  • People who are traveling to visa must apply for their Irish visa independently, as there are no group or family visa.
  • Young people under the age of 18 years, their parents or guardian must be responsible for the underage's visa application. 
  • You must intend to return to your country, applying for its visa in three months prior to your return to your country.
  • Your visa fee costs €60.00 for a single entry while the multiple €100.00 for a short stay.
  • Consular fee must be made.
  • Your visa fee must be paid directly to the Irish consulate or embassy in your country and must be paid either in Euro or your local currency.
  • You do not have to worry about processing fee as it will be covered by your visa fee.

Ireland Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Irish business visa for business travelers are issued to the Eritrean business men and women for the purpose of going into the country to attend business meetings.
  • The Irish business visa is also issued to foreign businessmen to negotiate, sign agreements or contracts.
  • The applicants for this Irish business visa are permitted to work for 14 days or less.
  • The Visa does not allow you to work above 14 days, that is, you will not be permitted to work for 15 days or longer.

  • Eritrean nationals are required to be in possession of an Irish transit visa when arriving at a port of entry in Ireland for the purposes of passing through a port (airport, seaport) in order to travel to another state.
  • A transit visa does not permit you to enter Ireland for any purpose. It only permits you to transit through Ireland to reach your destination country.
  • If the intention of the foreign travellers is to leave the port at any stage, they must apply for a short stay visa in the normal way.
  • Applicants are to have the relevant visa for your country of destination in your passport before applying for an Irish transit visa. 
  • There are Single and Multiple entries Transit Visa available to the applicants.
  • The Single transit visa costs 25 Euro.

Ireland Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements

  • The Irish study visa is a visa issued to international students who are looking forward to studying in Ireland for a period of more than 90 days or three(3) months.
  • You must ensure you are acquainted with the Policy on Non-EEA nationals of Ireland to know more about the policy governing International students regarding studying in Ireland and you meet all the requirements of the policy prior to your visa application.
  • If you will be visiting another country before you travel to Ireland, you must possess the country's visa on your passport.
