Basic Travel Requirements for Eritreans visiting Israel
Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a Israeli Visa.
- Original Eritrean international passport with a validity of a minimum of 6 months beyond your stay in Israel. The must-have one blank page for a visa stamp.
- One copy of the visa application form that has been completed with all relevant information by the applicant. The application form must also be duly signed.
- Two recent identical 5x5 passport-sized photographs. The photograph must be in colour and captured with a white background.
- Ensure that your passport is clipped to the visa application and not glued or stapled.
- Computer-generated flight itinerary from an airline or travel agency in Israel.
- Confirmed hotel reservation of each night of the applicant’s stay in Israel.

Israel Tourist Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- This visa is suitable for Eritrean tourists intending to visit Israel for vacation, leisure, relaxation, visiting family and friends and other tourism purposes.
- The Israel tourist visa is also known as the B2 visa and it is issued as a short-stay visa with a duration of 3 months.
- Israeli tourist visa can be renewed for a longer period at the Ministry of the Interior Visa office.
- Foreign nationals who wish to visit their friends or relatives who permanently reside in Israel can also apply for this visa.
- The tourist visa fee is generally charged $24.00USD, but this could be charged more or less in your own country or the consulate or embassy of Israel you are applying from.
- The processing time for this visa is within 5 working days. It could exceed 5 days if the information you supplied to your application form is invalid or insufficient, or the region or the country you are filing your visa application.
- The Tourist Visa cannot be used for employment purposes. Working in Israel for a stipend, wage or salary on this visa is highly prohibited.
- Tourists visiting Israel must provide the front and back copies of their health insurance card. A letter from the insurer which states that the applicant is covered internationally is required.
- Applicants of this visa who are employed are expected to provide proof of their employment in their home country.
- Visa applicants are required to visit the Embassy or Consulate in person for their visa application.
- If you want, you can request for the entry or exit stamp to be placed on a separate card which will be given to you by the immigration officers instead of your passport.
- Foreigners applying for this visa must fill out a form 17L. This form will contain the applicant’s personal details and will be stamped upon entry to and exit from the country.
- The form 17L will remain with the visa applicant after exiting from Israel as it is proof of legal entry and it is necessary for the collection of tax refunds.
- Payment for your visa must be made in your local currency.
Israel Business Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Applicants of the business visa are those who want to engage in commercial or industrial business activities in Israel.
- A business cover letter from the visa applicant should be provided. The letter should contain details of the duration and purpose of the applicant’s visit.
- This validity of this visa is 90 days as it is usually a short-stay visa, but could be extended if the holder wishes.
- The tourist visa fee is generally charged $24.00USD, but this could be charged more or less in your own country or the consulate or embassy of Israel you are applying from.
- The processing time for this visa is within 5 working days. It could extend more than 5 days if the information you supplied to your application form is invalid or insufficient.
- Foreigners must have an official invitation or visa approval notification provided by the host in Israel. The invitation letter is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Israel.
- The company that has requested your presence in Israel must formally invite you to the country by presenting you with an official letter written on the company’s letterhead.
- The letter of invitation issued by the host company must contain detailed information about the nature of the business to be carried out while the applicant is in the country.
- Renewal and/or extension to this visa can be done by lodging an application at the office of the Ministry of the Interior.
- You are not allowed to take up permanent residence in the country while travelling with this visa, as it is short-stay in nature.
- If you want, you can request for the entry or exit stamp to be placed on a separate card which will be given to you by the immigration officers instead of on your passport.
- Submitting incomplete documents during the visa application may lead to the rejection of your visa application.
- Foreigners who are employed should provide a copy of the work certificate or work contract which confirms their employers.
- You are expected to provide proof of sufficient funds of at least $100 per day in Israel.
- Applicants are to provide their valid Eritrean international passport that should be valid for at least 6 months.
- Business travelers are to provide their health insurance that will cover their stay throughout, in the country, as they will not be eligible for any public health service when visiting.
Israel Student Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Israeli student visa also known as A-2 visa, is granted to international students including Eritrean students who want to go to Israel to study in Israeli elementary, high schools, academic institutions, yeshivot and youth institutions of the Jewish Agency.
- The duration of stay for this visa is up to one calendar year.
- Applicant for this visa has to paid $47.00 USD for the visa. The fee could be different from the consulate or Diplomatic mission of Israeli you are filing your visa application form.
- Students traveling on this visa cannot work in Israel on this visa. It is strictly for educational purposes only.
- Your visa processing time might be done within two(2) weeks but could vary depending on the country you are applying for this visa.
- Minor who want to study in Israel will not be granted the visa without their parental consent note.
- You are required two(2) passport pictures of 5 by 5cm.
- It is issued for multiple entries and exits.
- Letter of admission in Israeli institution has to be provided when applying for this visa.
- Students applying has to provide proof of financial means to cater for their studies and sustenance throughout their stay in the country.
- You are to present a valid travel document that is valid for at least, a year given that your country has an embassy in Israel. In a situation where your country does not have a diplomatic mission in Israel, your passport must be valid for your entire stay or study in Israel and extra six months beyond your study duration in Israel.
- Payment of your visa fee, and it must be made in your local currency.
Israel Work Visa Eligibility & Requirements
- Isreali work visa is also called a B-1 visa and it is granted to people who are traveling to the country to work for a limited period of time.
- Experts, artists, and others are eligible for this visa at the approval of the Israeli Ministry of the Interior.
- You are to pay for the visa fee when your application is submitted to one of the population administration offices of the Israeli Ministry of Interior.
- The Israeli consular will issue the visa to you once your application is approved by the Israeli Ministry of the Interior.
- Before the issuance of the B-1 visa, you will be interviewed, and the following documents will be required from you:
- Good conduct certificate that is verified.
- You are to present a certificate of medical assessments performed by the health center recognized by the Israeli mission and your blood tests results.
- Fingerprints taken and a photograph.
- Duly filled visa application form.
- 5 by 5cm two(2) passport-photographs.
- Note that the Israeli consul will request additional documents.
- Your B-1 Israeli work visa validity will be at the discretion of the Israeli Ministry of Interior guidelines.
- You are to enter the country during the period specified on your visa and stay in Israel as stipulated on your visa.
- You can extend your visa when in the country at the population administration offices of the Israeli Ministry of the interior.
