Basic Travel Requirements for Gaboneses visiting New Zealand

Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to apply for a New Zealander Visa.


  • Original Gabon Passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond the intended period of stay in New Zealand.
  • A copy of duly filled and signed New Zealand visa application form.
  • Two recent photographs that are taken against a white background are required.
  • Covering letter from the applicant stating the purpose and duration of the visit.
  • Original confirmed return/onward air tickets should be provided.
  • Proof of accommodation or hotel reservations in New Zealand.
  • Original copy of bank statement from the past three months indicating that the applicant has sufficient funds for the duration of stay in New Zealand. This must be a minimum of NZD400 / month if you have prepaid for your accommodation, and NZD1000 / month otherwise
  • Travel insurance which has sufficient medical coverage. The insurance should be valid for the duration of the applicant's stay in New Zealand.
  • Travel itinerary showing travel details, arrival and departure date from New Zealand.
  • If the applicant will be visiting New Zealand for more than 6 months, a  chest x-ray, to show that the applicant does not have tuberculosis.
  • A ticket to fly back to Gabon. Do not purchase your plane tickets until you've obtained an agreement in principle that you will have your application approved.
  • Documents that indicate you'll be able to support yourself during your stay.
